I actually have a pinion, I found one last night in the spares. I think it's a MOD1 but would need to check. I think I might sell this kit on though. I could just buy the 625mm blades and get it in the air, but I change my mind so often on which electronics to get and I'm just faffing. I haven't sold the 500efl so I'm going to sell on the Rave 450, and the Ballistic as well, and then get myself either a 600 or 700 DFC. I can feel myself being stressed out by knowing spares are more difficult to buy ( although as said they can be bought from the US ) and I'll probably be worried about flying it and it hold me back progressing. I'd keep them but I have so much stuff all over the place I'm already constantly in trouble with the wife. I think I need to make my life easier.Pete

Well, if you keep the 500 then maybe the best option would be to get a 12s 600 and then you can share packs with the 500. Plus anything that might break in a crash is cheaper, blades etc.

Problem with that is I use 2700mah lipos in the 500, think they might be a bit too small for the 600. Not a bad plan though.Originally posted by trillian View PostWell, if you keep the 500 then maybe the best option would be to get a 12s 600 and then you can share packs with the 500. I don't think you will find 2700's too small for a 600. I use 2600's and 3000's in my 600. I am not into aerobatics yet but I find the 2600's just as good. What they lack in MAH's they gain in lightness.Tron 7.0 advance Vbar evo V Control

My main 600s (Kasama Dune and Beam Avantgarde) fly very well on packs from 2600 to 3300. I have a few pairs of Gens Ace 25C 2600s, a couple pairs of Turnigy 30-40C 2650s, a pair of Zippy Compact 2700s and Gens Ace 3300s. On the Beam I get about 5.30 doing 'big air' FAI type stuff, running it around 2000 headspeed (could go a little longer on the 3300s but I always forget to change the timer).Originally posted by PeteStewardson View PostProblem with that is I use 2700mah lipos in the 500, think they might be a bit too small for the 600. Anyway, that's the same size packs my 500 uses and they work really well, plenty of power in a 12s setup.Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam

Well it looks like the Ballistic is staying. In the end I decided to fly it as a 635 for now. I've just bought a Scorpion 4035-560KV and a Kontronik 80HV for it, and a mini vBar for FBL. Just servos to sort out and hopefully world-of-helix will be delivering my blades, esc plate, and metal bearing block in the next week. Then on with the build once I get back from holiday.Pete

With the Kontronik you can build it as light as possible because all you need is a small buffer pack or an Opti Ultra guard.
Just out of curiousity though, I wonder what is the max main blade size you can run on the 635? Also, if it uses the same grips as the 700 it would have a 5mm blade bolt and all the 600 size blades I am familiar with have 4mm bolt holes.
I once had a pair of SAB 660mm blades with a 5mm hole.Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam
