The best companies out there always invest as much money into testing as they do into design.

    I wonder why Blade don’t?

I used to make the press tools that made the seat belt and pretensioner reels. We tested 1 per 1000, so if you have a Ford, just hope your car has that 1 lol. Oh no, it was tested to destruction, unlucky hahaha!!

We don't know that they don't. One problem doesn't allow us to draw any conclusions about how any manufacturer works their budgets. As for investing as much money into testing as design - well, that depends on what product is being developed, what the profit margins are, what the share holders want etc. etc.

Blade have had one problem with a new heli. They identified it, recitified it, and notified everyone quickly. Let's not turn this into anything else.

Blade (more than any other brand) will be criticised no matter what they do. I think a part of it is a little bit of heli snobbery and part of it is genuine concern given some of their track record. I think this is a good call from them and they moved quickly to address the issue. How quickly we forget the Goblin tail boom issues........

I am going to put money I don't have down here ,
so if anyone from Horizon or Blade reads this , I am just a joanne average pilot, but I saw the 700 X at Helimasters, and as far as I could see it was rather nice!

I am not prepared to pay full price (as I believe it will be discounted soon) but I will pay cost, for a kit , build it with my gear and fly it and give an honest report on it , rather than see all this ill informed none sense about the 700x

I recall my X7 having the same issue. They caught it and put it out there like any good company would.

I'm still wondering how a washer fails? If it's one of those raw mozzarella jobbies then maybe but a cooked one will be way tougher

I guess wrong material for the axial loads, or wrong diameter, wrong shape maybe? The advisory mentions warping, so I guess with the loads they're under in the head, stress fractures could result if warping went unchecked.

It seems like a lot of hassle for the customer to have to go through just to get a couple of washers.

I have to agree, what's with all the sending back crap. It's two washers, 'tell us you have a heli and we'll post them out to you' seems more sensible. I'm not going to try to rip off a company for a pair of washers am I. You have to ground your heli for days waiting for them to receive the defective ones before replacing with working ones...!

SAB had you contact your dealer for replacement parts and they were sent straight to your door. Seems a better setup to me. But then again it's a blade 700 and no one's going to buy one in the UK anyway. lol
