Well finally received the 130x I ordered before Christmas and managed to get out with it yesterday for a couple of packs... I've set it up as the manual suggests and count myself lucky to have had no issues, as reported by others... it bound first time and flew perfectly out of the box. what an improvement over the mCPx... I think it flies like a much bigger heli... I was enjoying chucking it around so much, that I even managed to complete my first ever loop... it wasn't pretty but I did manage it!!! Second attempt and I lost orientation and hit the ground pretty hard... luckily only a cracked canopy to contend with!!
I wish I'd bought this instead of the mCPx, I totally love it, especially the fact that I can take it with a pocket full of batteries to the local park and not bother many people!!!

I agree, it is an excellent helicopter. I did my first ever loop today too. Well it was more of an untidy flip. I wouldn't dare to fly one of the bigger helicopters like that. I crashed it twice but it remained flyable.

My flying has moved on more in 5 batteries on mine than a whole summer on the 450!

I assume that the teething problems are fixed with the recent crop of 130x's? Is there anything I should look out for as early warnings of forthcoming problems and are there any worthwhile upgrade parts that I should buy, or just leave it stock??

i didn't think it would be enough of a step up from an mCPX to make it worthwhile.

The 130x has addressed and fixed ALL of the issues associated with the mCPx, such as the poor tail control and tail blow out during violent collective manoeuvres, plus the lack of power. the 130x flies like a larger helicopter and has a lot more power, plus a proper controllable pitch tail rotor. It also seems to be as resilient as the mCPx when crashed. I only ever managed to get my mCPx inverted once, but it wouldn't climb and I was so close to the ground that I couldn't get it back upright... no such problems with the 130x, plus I've never managed to loop the mCPx, but I did with 130x first attempt!!
I love it, I will do things with it that I wouldn't dare attempt yet on my 450 or 500... It is definitely not a beginners heli, but once your past the hovering stage, i would recommend it to anyone.

I was dubious when I bought mine after all the early moans about them and thought I would more than likely be sending it back...........

But no chance

had mine straight out the box this morning doing loops flips and funnels, a little sloppy on the sticks so only 20% expo, backwards fast also good tail could be a bit stronger but for the money great fun helicopter

As part of my introduction back into heli's after a few years off it's a great little heli, flying well straight out of the box and very stable for something of it's size, not done much more than hover it about at the moment but if it's remotely calm i'll have it outside tomorrow

I think it's a brilliant heli - significantly better than the mcpx for learning more advanced flying.
