Spin 8000 killed my 130.

Ok we'll the title made it sound dramatic.

I fitted a spin 8000 last night, today I get home before my wife and kids so decided to test it out before I get to the indoor club. Spooled up in living room, got it 3 ft up when bang all hell broke loose. The tail shaft ( lynx ) snapped right in the middle

To make matters worse I pulled full neg to get it down and the lynx tail fin snapped and disappeared into the abyss, my 1 year old son likes to pull himself about the place putting all foreign body's in his mouth. I've looked everywhere with a high powered torch just to be sure and its gone. It's got some nasty carbon splinters hanging of it I'm sure

My throttle curve was 90 flat when this happened on a 11t pinion so be warned people. You will need a much lower headspeed with this motor / pinion combo.

installed my spin 800 and now when i spool up the heli just spins on the ground the tail servo wont centre untill its spooled up and got some head speed any one had a issue like that ?

The motor is plugged in the right way isn't it?

I admit there times you think ya need more power but mine has the power to do all the 3D stuff if i dont over pump the throttle so surely wont you find having to lower motor speed your going to be somewhere near back to the stock power.???

Heathy, lynx have had QC issues with the tail shaft...

I suggest you contact them and you'll most likely at least get that replaced

Lol i bought some lynx gyro padding once let's just say bubblegum was stickier... Wasnt impressed at all so I won't be going anywhere near any lynx stuff.

It's very similar to zeal tape in my experience... really good at killing vibes but not something I would trust to hold during hard 3D.

I believe the idea is that you strap the gyro/FBL unit down over the gel.

Same as the align PU gel really too.

lol mines awesome but 80% with a little throttle mixing is ample for anyone sounds like it revved itself to death lol

The rain just eased off for a couple minutes so I couldn't resist and gave the spin its first outing

80% flat is plenty imo
It was fast enough stock but it goes like hell now

I think it's much better than stock and definitely better with the heavy gens aces back nearly touching the servo rod

Tried mine today and glad it was up high o has the stock tail blades on and after a couple of pitch pumps bang. Te tail blade flew off along with half of the grip _=\ may order some metal ones so they can cope =p. it certainly seemed more powerful

I've just put lynx blade grips on, they seem ok, I'm now thinking maybe it was lucky I broke a ball off the plastic grips while fiddling with the Heli rather than it throwing a blade grip

I had the same last week on first flight with the spin at 85%,the blade flew out from the grip,cracked at the blade screw hole.Just picked up some lynx weighted grips from Quick to try
