    Well it got it's first outing yesterday. My first 700 and it's not new, I was the last in school to have 14 hole DM's if you get my meaning. But, quite uneventful really, a bit of tuning help from Andy K and a couple of gentle flights and to be honest I found it a bit intimidating. How you boys chuck them around within a few feet of yourselves I don't know, it will stay well down the field for now. The leap from a 600 doesn't sound like much but I can tell you it's a world of difference. It's old school, a flybar I mean and after having flown exclusively FBL for the last few years it's not going to be keeping it. I think if I leave it I won't progress my flying at all, in fact I think I'll go backwards.

    I like the stability, the feel is much heavier, but lighter if that makes sense. The engine is still really tight and as rich as a rich thing but it's smooth and torquey, I think I'm going to like that bit. Caught me out a bit coming out of a backwards loop towards me, something I do all the time with the 600, they don't arf pick up speed had to quickly turn away down the field to stop it ending up in my lap.

    So all in all a bit happy, and a bit intimidated. I'll get over the size of it with a few more tanks through it and hopefully with the addition of a BeastX or similar I'll get the feel I'm after

    The 700 is hard to beat, I love mine! You will enjoy it even more when you go fbl.

      Nice one Dave, you'll soon get used to it. Wont be maidening my new DFC 700 today though, bloody elevator servos just thrown a fromby on the bench. Better there than in the air though i suppose.

        Cheers boys, I'm sure I'll get used to it. I had my 3rd flight on it and brought it back to the pits, I was talking to Wayne Duncans Dad when he bent down and pointed out that the nylock had come off the bolt holding the tailblade on. Very lucky my maiden wasn't my first in I really like the look of the new 700, I'll see how I get on, promised myself a Goblin 630 next Spring but if I love the 700 then I might not be able to resist.

        This one will be FBL by the turn of the year, maybe even sooner How did the DFC head work on your night flyer Tony?

          The DFC heads a big improvement on how the 700 flys imo Dave, im using Radix night blades which fly exactly the same as the normal radix's so it worked just as it would do flying in the day

            Im currently building a 700n DFC and its a little disappointing in some areas tbh.
            + 7 x Eddies finest EGS's

              Are you building it for someone Ben or for yourself. I think following your recent additions to your fleet mate you're going to find pretty much most other manufacturers a bit lacking

              Hopefully get a better feel for it this weekend, but it has to go fbl, I may even stretch to a V bar, there I said it the V word

                Ben what areas you not happy with mate ? Keep looking at it on fl website and I am about that - much of putting it in my basket !
                If it's anything like my 600n le dfc I think I will love it!

                  Got to go Vbar Dave lol.

                  Of course Im not building it for me lol, after our recent debate No Im building it for a friend but I was expecting to see better quality as many say the quality has moved on but imho it is still where it was. It is not bad dont get me wrong, there is worse out there and yes I may be spoiled but to have bits of CF protruding where it has not been cut out properly is rubbish lol. Ive taken a few pics but tbf you cant really see and you do have to pick it up and look close at it but they are there. Theres 3 points so far where things are not aligned properly and required a fair bit of force to get aligned
                  And Ive only got this far lol.
                  I dare say it will fly nice and in typical Algin fashion but I really was, based on comments expecting it to be a step up from what I remembered


                  Panos, like I said, I may be spoilt with TDR's and Kasama's etc so bare that in mind. Where I see imperfections others may not and they will not cause any issues. Not the ones I seen so far anyway lol

                      I find that all I ever fly now is my 90. It hasn't been in the air recently due to the pipe blowing up and it needing a new tail fin, and also because I've been messing with my Fusion 50. Can't wait to fly it again, I can see me swapping the Futaba FBL for a VBar (<-- can't decide if I'm happy or not lol)

                      With the CGY750 on the Vision with bellcranks, I had too much throw and not enough resolution. I switched to direct to swash, and now I have too much resolution and not enough throw, even on the furthest out hole on the servos, so I can't get my cyclics as fast as I'd like, even upping the AFRs in the menus

                      Anyway... back on topic! Glad you enjoyed it and I completely get what you mean about the intimidation. How people fly them so close to themselves is beyond me, as you say. I fear the model itself as much as I fear crashing it.

                        My bitch wouldn't let me get used to her last year for same reasons but now I rule her" awesome sounding bitch she is & now ive got the 3GX setup just need 3G blades but wont be till next week now, will need to see how she flies with the D's Saturday
