I also have, thanks to Chris, a complete carb and backplate to convert the engine from pumped to non-pumped should I so choose.
Would you be able to explain more please Mart, ive been intrigued to know how a non-pumped fuel system works as apose to pressure from the muffler like mine and what this other backplate and carb does.

A non-pumped system just uses exhaust pressure to pressurise the tank. There are two varieties of pumped system, the first is the one OS use which uses a Perry Pump driven by crankcase pressure plus exhaust pressure to force the fuel to the carb which has a regulator to maintain an even flow. The new OS91 and YS use crankcase pressure & a one-way valve to pressurise the fuel system and a regulator on the carb, again to maintain a constant pressure to the carb. Arguably the crancase pressure/one way valve/carb regulator is the best and OMI used to sell a kit to convert the standard OS 91 C Spec & HZ to this system which works very well, I believe OS have bought the rights off OMI to use this for the new HZ91 motor with this sytem fitted.

Build question: Just about to mount the QuickUK canopy mounts to the frame but I'm finding that the 12mm bolts used to fit the stock mounts are too long. Did anyone else find this and, if so, what's the correct length?

I used the standard Align ones on the back and the Quick UK for the front. It is only the front mounts that are a little tricky. Also if you wipe out all of the mounts you a complete replacement set.

When you fit the plastic things in the canopy use epoxy and not CA. I found the CA to not work very well. With the epoxy you can build it up around the black plastic thingy on the inside of the canopy to make a very strong bond.

Agreed- I found that a couple of days ago- Ca is way too brittle for the flexible canopy and breaks with any stress ( and pulls the paint off)- put a band of epoxy around the inside lip of the black grommet and then seat it gently in the canopy hole- works very well

I found a couple of 10mm bolts in my spares box and they did the job for the QuickUK canopy mounts, at least the rear ones. Might have to cut the 12mm ones down to do the front.

              Anyway, a little progress tonight:

              Frames built and loosely joined:

              Head loosely installed:

              Tis beginning to take shape!

Studding is used at the front not a bolt.

Well, my Quark and DS650 arrived today. Thanks once again Fast Lad for your usual prompt service.

Done a little more tonight - plumbed the fuel tank, aligned the main frames, loctited all the bolts, fitted the forward canopy mounts and the nose cone:

I can't help wondering though, why your LE has black metal parts? I thought the silver parts were what made it an LE

                          Yep looks nice Mart.

Might be worth while dry fitting the fuel tube from the tank to the mufler side for tank pressure. The tube has to go through the frames and the holes have two rubber gromits fitted in them. On some kits (mine included) the hole for the fuel tube was not big enough once the rubber gromits were fitted. It would need drilling out. Easier to this now whilst the engine is not in..

After bringing out the silver head, they shortly after brang the LE v2 out which was black.

....never did figure that one out either.

As Paul says above, it's available in both colour ways. In truth I would have preferred the silver but, at the price I paid for the kit, I wasn't about to turn black down.

I may be wrong but I thought there was a little more to the LE than just the metalwork colour. Anyone have an answer to this?

                                Very nice build Martin.

You clearly suffer with OCD, the build is clean and methodical, and pictures are very well presented.

Quark was a good choice, I recently fitted one on my 255, easy to setup and cured my minor tail wag issue.

Enjoy the build and keep those pictures coming!
