Done a bit more today. Assembled and installed the clutch/fan assembly onto the engine, installed the engine and fan shroud, fitted the base plate and landing gear:

Tis starting to look like a heli. Well, kinda...

Hey Mart, thought you were going to switch the engine back to a non pumped one with the other carb and backplate you have?

looking nice though - bet these pic's turn up in rotorworld sometime in the future hence the attention to detail etc

        Thanks Rob.

I have the bits, generously given to me by CChris. I thought I'd give it a try with the pumped version first, just out of curiosity, then switch if, as and when I need to.

Martin, I'd of thought that these heady summer windless (well, below 10 mph) days were flying days rather than building days.

Having said that, there were 4-5 of us at our field today with a membership of over 100. Go figure!

I don't disagree. However, loving my wife as I do, I prefer to spend time with her and not leave her on her own for large chunks of my free time as flying dictates that I do. Thus I do my share of the chores around the house and, in between, I do a little building.

That way I get some heli-stuff done too and keep my wife sweet into the bargain. Everyone's a winner!

p.s. I've been married for 27 years, perhaps due to knowing what I can get away with and what I can't.

Build question: I wanna complete the build of the airframe before I install the servos etc. Is there any reason why I cannot do this (i.e. build and install the tail) and then fit the servos later, once the airframe is complete?

Dont see why not mart, the only thing that could cause you problems is if you wanted to fit a gov at a later date.Might be worth fitting the sensor and magnets ready for the future

700 comes with a gov so he should have that base covered

Thanks guys. I bought the bare 700LE kit and have not bought a governor for it.

In fact, truth be known, I still have the governor for my 600 which I never fitted.
