    Okay, I'll chip in.

The ATV setting that I inherited on my TREX 700 / DX7 / GP750 combo was 75%. Got that from Stu Smith, so it's good enough for me! You may want to try increasing the gain steadily up to that point.

Another issue may be your muffler. Up until recently my Raptor 50 exhibited similar characteristics to what you describe: the tail wouldn't sit quite steady in the hover and as it twitched a bit there was a change in engine note. I swapped out the stock TT muffler for an Align one (engine is an OS 50 Hyper so I figured it would be a good match) and since then the problem appears to have gone away.

So perhaps you have an engine / muffler mismatch. Another idea might be to try changing your headspeed (if using a governor) or throttle curve at the hover point (if not).

    regards,

Not sure if you have flown this before or not, if not it sounds to me like you gain is too low I think you need to come in one hole on the servo horn and try putting up your gain to 75% on a DX 7 which is 52% on real Gyro gain (75%/1.44).

As for the change in engine sound (check that the muffler is secure)

      I hope this helps..

        Thanks for both your advice

I have checked the muffler and it is on ok.

I have tried more gain, but it did not make much of a difference. I think I will try and see if somebody that has more experiance can have a look at it for me as it could be something simple that I have set up wrong!!

The only tail wag issue I have ever had was on my 600 with a GP750/DS620 combo. The 620 failed on me shortly thereafter and Pegasus sent me a new one. This still never cured the issue so I pulled the 750 and fitted a GY401.

          Tail's been fine ever since.

Out of interest, how are you adjusting the gain? Are you using the gyro menu or travel adjust on the gear channel?

Whichever way you are doing it now, it might be worth switching to the other method.

            I am using travel adjust.

Hopefully I can get some expert help at the weekend and I will report back to this thread incase the solution helps somebody else out.

Did you adjust your servo ball link by one hole in on the servo arm ?

If its any help,i have strapped one of my 750's down on my 600le due to a slow drift using a small align velcro strap. The tail never wagged but it seems to hold better in drastic pitch changes

Not yet. I will try it at the weekend, as I cant fly now untill then anyway.

I have a sneaky feeling that something else is not quite right, but will hopefully find out soon

At the moment i am find it quite hard without haveing somebody there to help and discuss setup with while I am doing it so the kind invite to bath model heli club is most welcome.
