          the heli's i've got
          hirobo sceadu,freya, bell 47 petrol
          tt raptor 60 and 90
          jr vigor
vario bell 47 with sky fox mechanics
graupner jet ranger with uni mechanics
          trex 600 sport , 700

i've not had a build problem with the other machines apart from the trex's
600 (bought after it was out for 18 months)- the see saw pivot bolt shoulder too short locking up the bearing , a shim cured this and no real issue

          the 700
main shaft bearing block holes in the frames out of line causing the shaft not to slide through the bearings when assembled loosely in the frames
          it had the bad links
the control rods were the wrong length
the carbon rod on the rudder rod didn't fit but was split anyway
various drilled holes in the frame to small for the shoulder on the bolts
          the governor don't work
i had to shim various part for them to fit with no shims supplied in the kit

          after flight
the swash bearing shield fell out every flight until i took it off
the clutch block wore out not holding the bearings
          2 failed main gears
the one way start bearing failed
the tail drive gears have worn out , giving excessive back lash in the gears
all in 3 1/2 months of flying it

when i bought the 700 i thought that after the first kit 600 problems that align would have got the 700 right but guess i was just wrong, the thing is a joke, under developed and not correctly tested a few vids of top pilots flying them isn't correct r&d

the 600 in 15 months has had the main shaft bearings wear out the blade grip bearing hole oval, the swash wear out, the wash out base bush wear out, the tail pitch fork break, the start shaft fail

the sceadu has had 1 main shaft bearing wear and a clutch (as i didn't replace the liner soon enough) in 7 years
the freya has had no parts fail or wear out in 6 years
the hirobo bell 47 had a tail gear roll pin snap (not in flight) in 6 years
the raptor 60 was bought used and no parts have yet failed (but i've only had it 2 months)
the raptor 90 (that was a 60) had the quick uk auto hub when i put the 90 in it and a swash plate after 8 years of use
the vigor one way start bearing fail in 3 years

          the vario (7 years),graupner (1 1/2 years)have had no parts fail

the models i've bought new are the 700, 600 raptor 90
all of the others were bought used

thats how i compare the quality of the 700, i think you can tell i'm a little pi$$ed with it , but it does fly well

            i have a pair of 700's.

only issues i've had are chewing dampers, broken main gears and failed clutch.

            cheers

the best thing would be for align to stand up to their mistake put the model right and give the 700 owners the free upgrade (like this will happen)

so this leaves the 700 owner to
modify the machine to work as it should, fitting what ever upgrade parts that are made

or sell it and hope you don't get any come back

i have somebody wanting to buy my airframe but i won't sell it to him cus i don't want the hassle off him when he realises there not that reliable/of poor quality
i would rather put it on ebay/model mag/ model shop for sale so i have no come back from it

mine will only have one more problem then the engine/radio will come out and i'll sell it

Canopy Gel coat cracks very easily just by fitting/removing.. Needs to be reinforced (BEFORE EVEN TRIAL FITTING) especially around the front mounting points. In flight Its flexability allows it to move around wearing it away at the front lower frames.(reinforced round the mounting holes) who cares if it rubs a bit!

Bent links (I just used them)

Couple of Rods during build were to short (swapped them for some old Rappie ones)

One Way Start shaft bearing appears to not one way very well (doesn't cause a problem possibly the bearing is dry)

Clutch shoe broke at 3 gallons incorrect liner clearance. (relined clutch using originial liner after prising it out..'easily done'. Used a wrap of paper to pack it out)

Dampners.. Originial Dampners OK. I think the secret of getting longevity from them is to Track the model at Low head speed. At higher headspeed it masks the tracking being out as it appears to be tracked OK but whats happening is there flexing each revolution hence the wear rate.

Dampners..This has since also worked on another 700 that wore the dampners out after two gallons.

Boom Stay..broke a securing pin in flight + one unscrewed ( repaired with epoxy + small dia threaded rod)

                  I'm about 10 gallons in.

I think it's a VFM product as I abuse it stupid when I do fly it. A £450 90 machine with almost comparable crash costs to a trex 600.

Its all standard, no upgrades...YS 91ST at 1950 H/S, Flies light. 3D basher rather than FAI machine. Running Captain Crashes Finest for blades (GLX) at £46 a pop.

I've had no issues with the Maingear myself even though I do full forward speed stops with a forward cyclic push (think Lukas)

after the second gallon of fuel through the 700 with the 3rd mainshaft bearing mod some of the teeth are showing a little wear but i think this is just where i adjusted the gears on the tight side as it still has a slight tight spot

and clutch block to stop my main gear stripping. have a look at there web site
                        that are listed for sale.

mines got the four axis ali clutch bearing housing
and it's been moded so the mesh is adjustable
and the metal clutch bearing block isn't the whole cure
what we need is mod 1 gears and the frames to be spaced closer together like the freya/raptor/vibe
