When you mention the starter, is that the one I sold you? I had the same problem, it'd turn it over a couple of time then get stuck. I put it down to me using a new-old-stock OS 91 c-spec that was maybe stiffer than most. Like yourself I used a cordless and that did it no problem. I also noticed the wires out the forcepack got pretty warm. I never tried the starter off a car battery maybe that would help, also it might be worth beefing the wires up since its obviously pulling a good few amps to get the cable that warm.

No wonder it wouldn't turn my OS 91 over. 



My dyna tron will start anything also, a very good investment and can run of a 6S lipo you have for you 500.
