Is anyone going to help that poor lad fit that radiator?
I could do it, I could take my shirt off and be photographed like the dude above, the result to female potential radiator buyers would be something like this:

What I don't understand why use sexiam as the title when you could have used ie, sexy 200SRX then your replys would have been more sensible.Today's outlook is fine for flying.- Spektrum DX18 gen2, Phoenix Sims, Align MR25XP.

Oh God, I was promised no one would ever see this photo of me...
:D
Pauka, don't take it to heart. The majority of members are cool. You'll just get PSOGs saying it's not a hobby for girls when they have no clue themselves. Now, can you come round and have a chat with my partner please? Get her into the hobby for me? :DHarry

I find it more cringe-worthy than sexism. And again more about assumptions than sexism.
There are a proportion of people that will respond to advertising where you put a 'good looking woman' next to something you want to sell. The inference is obvious - buy item and get girl like this because you do.
I personally find this very seedy, especially in publicity about events - like the 'Gaui Girls'. If you have to pay a woman to be interested, then she isnt interested in you..... and to me that makes the whole thing tacky. It will work for some though I am sure, just like the diet coke break ads make some women buy diet coke.
Im not surprised that the guy in the shop thought that you would be buying for someone else. Probably 90+% of sales are going to be either by men or for men, so its a fair assumption to make, rather than sexism. Sexism is discriminating against someone because of their sex, and that isnt the case here.... he didnt stop you from buying it or flying it because you are female.
Women are more than welcome in this hobby. I know two personally - Trillian (Sheryl) and Rachel. Trillian gave me some excellent advice when I was starting out, and probably more than any individual male friend or forum member while I was finding my feet. Rachel competes nationally (and beats me at AIR). So I dont think its impossible for women to get involved, there just are not that many. Its something about RC - most of us were brought up when if you were lucky you could have an RC car, and now that we are allegedly grown up we can afford to have the toys that we couldnt have 20/30 years ago. Im not sure how many girls were brought up then with the same desires.Logo 600 3D --- Vortex Vx1n

I think you are absolutely correct about the tacky nature. It's just a little out of date. And as said not a reflection of the people involved in this hobby. I have just returned from my local shop where I picked up my new heli. I showed the guy there a picture of the scale body i had just bought which included the picture of the girl. He said he finds in awkward with this sort of promotion and that he recently received a magazine from a rep that he didn't put out because of the picture of scantily women on the front cover.
He just found it embarrassing.
If i had to make a conclusion to all of this it would be that the sellers of helicopters and other RC equipment need to update their techniques in advertising to reflect what is a very inclusive hobby.Trex 450L Dominator (flown six times crashed twice)

This is a very interesting thread.
Looking at the box it certainly doesn't cause any offense to me, nor would it if it had the bloke on it.
I might get teased if I had it delivered to work though!
But if it does offend some then they are clearly shooting themselves in the foot.
If I was desiging the box, I certainly wouldn't do that though.
Tim.
