Interesting this actually.
Sheryl your a long standing member on here... Do you feel the same as Paula?
For me there's so much of popular culture that I take with a grain of salt. There are adverts on TV I find much more irritating for completely different reasons. We live in a world where governments and tradition and 'fashion' say you can't do this and that and I just ride roughshod over the lot of 'em and do whatever I want (politely of course :lemo: ). The only things of a vaguely similar nature that annoy me are obsessions with youth, with looks, with 'celebrity' and this goes way outside of this hobby. So, basically I have too many other things to be annoyed about if I choose to. :abnormal: I'm a post hippie generation 'live and let live' left wing tree-hugger, so not very much really bothers me and unless I find something really offensive it pretty much fades into the background. I'd be pleased to think the model on that box used the pics to add to her portfolio to get more modelling work.

I've just shown the Mrs the picture and the first thing she said was "what a great rack" and then I asked if she would be put off flying because of the image? Her words were "eh what you on about? Why would that put me off?" I'm baffled as to why it puts you off? If I'm honest i see you only have a few post under your belt and already coming across as someone looking who's got a "issue" with females being portrayed wrong on adverts? This is a heli forum and people or most of them on here are all in it for the same reason, the love of it, wether male, female, goat or sheep. WE ALL LOVE HELIS and talking sh@t about them. I don't want to sound rude, but your not getting off on the right foot if I'm honest, but that's just my opinion and at the end of the day I am a bloke.

That's an add for a bodybuilders Gym (Equinox)... So entirely 'on topic' for the subject of the add. Not sure you can say that for the girl in her undies in an add for model heli scale fuselages... or am i missing some connection?

That is a Gym advert so it makes sense. If they were selling radiators it would be equally ridiculous. But they aren't. It is a lovely radiator though.

I'd not worry about sexism Pauka, the biggest issue with the RC community is how groups that are so close to each other in interest can gripe so badly.
Your more likely to suffer "Plankism" or "Multirotorism" than you are genuine sexism. I'd be extremely surprised if you don't suffer some "take the p155'ism" but since that happens here all the time you really can't feel singled out for it!! I ski and snowboard and when ever I do one I hear people whinge about the other, I ride bikes, motor bikes and drive a van, same deal....

The girl in the ad is really hot (not a decision I made, simply the result of the chemical soup that slops about in my testosterone poisioned carcass) but there is absolutley NO WAY I'd buy that helicopter, I'm not at all fussed on scale helis and that 300 is (IMHO) particularly hideous :) (See! Scale'ism!!!:))

Anyhoo welcome to the forum and with a bit of luck things will settle down a bit as you get to "know" people here.
Cheers
D
:)
.......unless otherwise stated, all opinions are my own.
