        I can't believe this was 5 1/2 years ago!
I managed to find all the bits I needed to finish this (a few years ago) and finally got round to finishing it today.

Unfortunately I didn't have anybody to video it but it had its first flight (well, first hover) since it was bought by my friend about 25 years ago.

Technology has definitely progressed since this was made

I can't either, where did that go

How did it feel, looks good though even with Align blades on, wouldn't woodies have been better

It actually didn't feel too bad... considering!

I left the original Futaba S3001 servos in it, and added a Spartan DS760 gyro and a Spektrum receiver.

I was expecting it to be a bit of a joke but once I got it dialled in, it wasn't teabag at all.

I'll probably take it out again tomorrow and do a bit of tweaking but I was actually quite impressed with it.

(I had the Align blades sat here, so I thought I'd use them... I don't trust woodies )

It looks really good! Very eccentric layout with the engine at an angle like that.

I have been working with my Compass Knight 3D to get it flying again, I removed the Arizona regulator and AR700 and Throttle Jockey and replaced them with an AR7110R using an LiFe pack. Just setting it up on the TX which was an interesting experience after not doing it in so long.

The whole thing seems very eccentric these days, Sheryl.
These old ones are certainly an experience to both build and fly, aren't they!

Yeah, one of my other recent projects is building up a Trex 500 ESP. It is flybarless but I'm using an Align ESC and had to do the setup using the throttle stick and the beeps. The tail was not working very well so I have changed the servo and tried as much as possible to remove slop, hoping it will be sorted now.

                    Jolly well done!

I think it's highly commendable that these "classic" helicopters should be maintained and flown.

If you liken them to cars, they may be like a Mk 1 Golf GTi or an Escort XR3i.

I was thinking more along the lines of a Vauxhall Viva

That must have been a later OHC model
