I imported 10 9650s, worked out about £25 each. Very unpatriotic of me but I wanted really good servos.

          T-Rex 500 spare parts

          http://www.align.com.tw/shop/index.php?cPath=22_72_92

Checkout the T-Rex 500 spare parts. This heli is a directly miniaturised T-Rex 600.....it's almost identical in every way. Including the new washout and swashplate recently introduced for the 600!

Bonus......as most of the problems have been discovered and ironed out in the 600 already. Now I'm really buzzing, can't wait
It's just a miniaturised and already proven heli.
This heli's going to be awesome!!

Yes i do have 2 chargers but it still acounts to 2 hrs charging or both chargers tied up for 1 hour for a 5 min flight

is why I'm upgrading to the new FMA 10S......one charger, charging two packs at once.

of course we could ask Mike to make us 6S 2100 packs, I'm sure he'd be ok with that. Then it's just one pack, you just can't reuse in the 450 as two separate packs.

                    • I would never rule one out but something would have to go and i dont wanna part with anything

I like the 450 for the park and the 50 size for the field...

However i cannot fault Align one bit,i love all the ones i have so unless something major happens it will be the only brand i would buy in future

                      • I've just had a look on the trex tuning web site and am very excited!! We normally get a bonus (hopefully) which would get a G10 one
What drive system does it come with in the UK and what size servos does it take??
                        VERY tempted!
                        Cheers, Lee.

                        • uses a 500L 1600kv motor, takes mini servos (futaba 9650, hitec hs82, etc etc). Uses two 3S 2100 packs in series to make 6S.

                          • Just factor in that the 600 electronics are not the best loved so the motor may be poo and the ESC may be quickly upgraded..

Also the 600N had faults with stuff straight from the 600E so a smaller version means all new parts, any of which could be trouble...

Of course any issues would soon be sorted i know

I assume that the vids we have all seen show the original 2200kv motor,so i would also assume that the 1600kv motor would not give as good a performance even on 6s..

                            • Less or more Kv's don't necessarily mean less or more power as long as you get the gearing right you will get the same headspeed assuming the motor is strong enough to cope with the required voltage and load put on it via the work it has to do...

Thats not very well put I know but its early

Lower kv motors have more torque so I'm led to believe

Bit early for me as well

So lower KV equals less RPM per volt but if they up the gearing to account for this then headspeed can be kept adequate but at a cost of needing more torque

So as long as less KV means more torque we should be OK
