anybody can be an Arsehole, it takes real commitment, dedication and a whole lot of effort to be nice.
most people haven't got a clue what phasing is OR how to adjust it.
So, if you provide adjustable phasing chances are it will get setup all wrong by the beginner and the heli flies like a bag of nails. Ok, so don't make it adjustable, now you run into manufacturing tolerances, servo accuracies, wear on the components which eventually lead to minor phasing issues.
if we spend long enough banging on about it then everybody will know eventually :-)
i remember first struggling with it on my raptor when i got it. trying to work out why it was scewing the tail out when flipping inverted. back then for some reason there wasnt much info on it and asking questions didnt really bring up any answers. it doesnt help when manufacturers wont admit to there being a problem!
as long as its documented in the manual then adjustable phasing can only be seen as a positive.

That's a really lousy excuse Ash, you could say the same about most adjustable bits.
it's not an excuse, I'm just highlighting why a lot of manufacturers don't provide adjustable phasing......because most people can't be bothered to read a manual.
I asked for adjustable phasing on the 600, I got told it's not gonna happen.
A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly
So on the sport model no phase adjustment
But on the top line 3D offering have phase adjustment.
Offer an upgrade head block or anti-rotation post with phase adjustment, but don't mention its phase adjutable just acall it a CNC 3D upgrade that has it as part of its construction.
Or fit a CSM box.
Or employ a decent 3D design engineer who can get the design right - they have solidworks at TT and align so the design shoudl be right. The raptor is so old though it was probably done with overlaid 2D blueprints - probably the miniT has no phase error?
I don't see any phase error on my raptor. Maybe it will have when it gets worn. Probably it is masked by the errors from my dated gyro and dumb thumbs anyway.
Why is TRVO worried about phase error in the head when he has a CSM box to adjust it with?

Dont spend more flying models than it costs to fly for real
Because the phasing is SPOT ON and there is no phasing problem. A CSM cyclock can only correct things when they are out of phase. The only problem that the old block has is sloppyness which comes with time and use and in certain moves can give the impression that the phasing is out (because sloppyness = movement).
To put it simply -
Align has released an upgrade which improves things, I don't see the need to comment any further since the whole point of upgrades is to improve the model??
somewhere in the align factory there is a small room with weird lighting and candles, one one wall there is a display cuboard with small dolls neatly placed on little stands on the shelves.
however one place is empty,
on another wall is a table with small trinkets and gubbins, small pots of screws and bearings placed neatly in a helicopter pattern.
a man is sitting at the table murmering quitely. if i didnt know better this could well be mistake for a santury in which voodoo could well be practised.
oh my god inside the helicopter is the missing doll... and it looks like spock!
hang on the man is saying "there is no phasing issue" over and over.....

if its down to wear and tear trev, then why did mine do it from brand new? it has always done it, it hasnt got any better or worst. Its also one of the main reasons when asked which model to go for i steer them away from the 600's. Especially for a relative novice, it just throws one more thing in to the equation of learning. This "upgrade" may well sort it, great, but why should it be an upgrade to make it fly right in the first place. I find the whole thing a disgusting PR excercise.....
