I'm sorry but a beginner would have no clue that the phasing is out until they tried to do either a loop or a roll.......and even then it would only skew slightly on the old washout and swashplate. It's not like it was 'miles out' and the majority of people wouldn't even know if Trev and I hadn't pointed it out in the first place. In fact I only notice it in a tumbling loop or continuous stationary rolls/flips where phasing will progressively put the model off track.

There's no PR exercise here, Align are marketing the upgrade as a 'lightweight' upgrade not a phasing fix. Align always bring out bling for their models, it's part of their marketing strategy.

Actually thinking some more on this a beginner heli is likely to have more CCPM issues affecting in flight tracking (due to using cheap servos and having poor setup) than the phasing is ever likely to cause.

well when i got my 600e i was in to loops and rolls, nothing more. I instantly could tell there was a problem, shown up badly in big loops. Initially i thought it was a gyro problem, but after lots of research, lots of question asking (including on here) it was reveled that there was this issue. Your right in what you say about beginners not knowing what phasing is or how it can affect how the hel iflys, but the end result is that it doesnt fly right, this is clear to see.

As for their marketting strategy, it sucks. If they had just admitted there was a "small error" induced by either the washout base, or the swash, or a combination of both, then it would have at least instilled a little confidence that they know what they are talking about, and they they also care about their customers, but instead there was a complete whitewash. Pretty much the same in fact as when i started asking questions about the poxy 600XL motors. Anyone connected with Align (especially BobJ when i spoke to him at 3D Masters) denied that there was any kind of a problem, when there clearly is/was. It just seems that their ethos is all wrong, but their marketting machine is able to turn anything bad in to something very good for them "come buy this pretty upgrade blah blah blah...."

If they are alternating you might have a phasing issue there

So let me get this right....

Is it now official that the unofficial Phasing problem that never existed in the first place officailly but did unofficially has now officially been recognised and corrected unofficially as such being sold under the upgrade guise to ensure that Align didnt need to officailly accept that it was screwed in the first place....

                  Unofficially of course

put simply if you got a 600 and you don't like the phasing you can fix it for £36.......if you've had your 600 a while then the swash and arms will be pretty worn by now and need replacing anyway.

I made the original post to help people out by telling them it's fixed with the new update so should they want to buy it they could so so in confidence knowing it fixes the issues. What I get back for my efforts is a bunch of crap. Thanks for that.

chill out Ash, everyone is entitled their own opinions. Thanks for letting us know it solves it, but my point was that it shouldnt have been there in the first place, and that you certainly shouldnt have to pay for an "upgrade" to fix it! hey-ho, horses for courses and all that, chill out!
