I've got the nanos and Overlanders. Both are very good, with the nanos perhaps having the edge.

Try not to fly until you fall out of the sky. 6 mins is about the limit for nanos, generally 4 to 5 minutes for the stock packs. If you fly til they drop they won't last long.

the Turnigy nano-tech uses the stock charger.

what about the Miniaviation 300mah 1s 30C lipo ? Can i use the stock charger with them as they are in UK and was going to order.

I find I get so engrossed it is difficult to watch the time! But as you are using the DX6i you can set a timer on the Tx either counting up or counting down and it bleeps every minute too. Makes it much easier!

but if i wanted to hover upside down what would i need todo this - DX6i settings etc?

or is it a case of just reverse the controls in my brain

you have to ensure that your idle up settings are correct, and firstly practice to fly normally in idle up.
(you take off in normal mode and once flying then switch to idle up)

BUT is idle up the switch i flick that makes it go into stunt mode?

I cut a 2mm carbon rod (from an old training gear leg) 10mm longer than then new V2 boom, dremelled a flat in one end - identical to the new boom - bound the two together with 3.5mm heatshrink and pushed into the hole in the frame.
The idea being that in the unlikely event of the rod snapping the new V2 boom could be used again.
This also makes a longer, less flexible boom with no noticeable increase in weigh or loss of flight time and works extremely well surviving many heavy crashes.

Thats correct. idle up / stunt mode / 3d mode are all the same thing

The settings for idle up are throttle all points 100%, Pitch 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%
