Cool! Even fun idea but still needs a second user Dx61, futaba rx and simstick...likely cheaper just to buy a second user Dx7 and live with the issues?
How about clonestick and have it all in one <g>? (I suspect 'futabastick' would be a copyright violation - flystick? - or is that a way of trapping flies?)

i have no worrys atall with the more exspensive models on the JR dmss system and dont worry aboult the cheeper stuff on the dx6i either . win win for me.and i like both radios.

My son and myself have both been very happy with our DX8's up until now. Mine is still working OK with no problems. My sons has started to loose trim and is gradually getting worse. Mine is still at version 2.0. My son updated his to 2.03 but had problems, so he went back to 2.01. Perhaps he might be better going back to 2.0??? Any thoughts?

John - if his sticks aren't centring properly, which is what I assume you mean by losing trim, it could just be that the spring tension is a little loose - try increasing it slightly.

In 2.03 you can also go to system, cycle through to the end and there is stick calibration.

Move sticks to full extent up/down left/right but don't pull into the corners or push too hard. Then centre the sticks and you should see "ok" displayed in all the boxes. Click to save And your controller should save the new centre positions and end positions. Go to monitor to confirm.

            Hope that helps

Simon has done calibration after the updates and backdates. He tried again when the trim problem started. I will suggest the spring tension. I tried the Tx myself (he is Mode 1 BTW) and when advancing throttle the Aileron trim moved between +1 to -4. Sometimes it went neutral, most times not. Stick springtension MIGHT well be the answer. Never, ever had any of this kind of problem with Futaba PCM 35mhz.

I started off with a DX6i and had problems. They did get fixed but when changing the trims I looked at the internals and was not impressed. It is a cheap tx so I thought I'd go for a DX7. I have used that without problems on DSM2 but I do tend to fly alone except for indoor. On indoor stuff some random things seemed to happen to my msr, but I couldn't be sure it wasn't me. The DX7 is a good quality tx. I was very disappointed with the issues surrounding the DX8, mainly the pot centering problems as these happened on the DX6i years ago. I've decided to go with Multiplex. The Multiplex Cockpit is 7 channel and costs £150. Rxs start at £40. They all have aerials on the end of leads long enough to get clear of carbon fibre frames. How Spektrum could ever produce rxs with nasty short aerials that people then mount parallel to a carbon frame is beyond me. I think they should recall all DX8s and get them put together properly, otherwise they are only fit for cheap models.

I really don't understand how they can produce some good stuff and then have so many problems. It would be nice to talk to the engineers and find out what is going on.

Been using the dx8 for months now and no problems so far (although I can somtimes get a servo twitch on the bench). A friend at the field said his cylclic spring tension vanished mid flight but other than that itsbeen fine. I'm not rolling in money so the dx8 fits the bill for me.

That sounds like the rudder pot is on the way out.

Wrong side - AILERON on Throttle stick in Mode 1. He has stripped it down including the Aileron pot. There seems to be some fuel/oil inside the stick area. There are some gaps around the gimbals that you can see daylight through. He has blasted everything with cleaner and then airblasted it. Now back together and will try it later after he has finished doing his business. I will let you know the results.

Update on son's DX8. After removing the Aileron and Rudder pots, then blowing clean, spraying clean and then blowing clean and re-calibrating once again. The DX8 is performing perfectly again.Son is a HAPPY bunny. Just need some rainless weather to get some flying done now.

I was going to buy a dx8 last month but weighed up the odds and ended up ith a PCM10X alon with a DM9 module and a AR8000 dsm 8 channel receive. This has more bells and whistles than i will ever use but gives me loads of room for improvement i.e landing gear and the likes.
                            cost me £270 all in.

There are loads of bargains to be had mate. I might be a newbie to this sport but if you do a little research the DX8 has still to iron out a few problems.
