If cost wasnt an issue....then the Logo.......but the 450pro is very close second...

How can the 550 have landed when it hasn't been flown yet?

            First impressions of the kit?

I don't think it's about "new", it's more about "flybarless".
Don't worry too much about the wind. That's part of the fun of flying 450.

                  All sounds positive.

I'm hoping my time on the 450 will stand me in good stead. Watching FBL 700 and 500 at the weekend and they both look very stable and locked in. Although good thumbs may be a significant part of that.

I know this thread is a bit old, but thought I'd just post a brief update.

When I finally sold the car to raise some funds, and got to the point of biting the bullit I looked on Fast Lads and saw the (at the time) very new Trex 600e Pro. I liked the look of it and went for it, in flybarless 3GX format.

So quite a step from my 450, and a fair investment in chargers, batteries and a pair of leisure batterys for field charging.

The kit bolted together beautifully in one long evening. I spent a few hourse setting up, and then another few hours tidying up and brading. So three evenings and I was ready to go.

First flight with that high head speed was pretty intimidating to say the least. I ended up dialing in 40% expo and flew like this for probably the first 10 flights. Then I started wanting more control from the +/- 12 on pitch and 9 degrees on elvator and aileron. Over the next two flights I dialled out all expo, and felt it starting to come alive. By way of a reminder at that point I was a comfortable Heli A flyer, but beyond the lazy 8 I was side on hovering and getting half way to a stall turn, so the heli was way beyond my level.

That has been the revelation. I quite quickly gained confidence and pushed (for me) my learning. I probably learnt and improved more in 3 months than I had in about 6 years of heli flying. Thanks I'm sure to the confidence the heli inspires for me I've mad some progress that I'm chuffed with. Don't get me wrong. I'm no 3D hero, but I'm improving far faster than I thought I ever would.

A few weeks ago I went for my first loop and pulled it off without any tears. A week later I lashed a Go Pro to the heli, for those interested here's a little video that gives an idea of what a stable platform the 600e Pro is, and where I am now a few months into ownership.

                    Trex 600e Pro 3 mp4.mp4 - YouTube

Thanks to the 600, I'm really enjoying my heli flying and the planks rarely get flown these day.

I hope this is of interest and help to anyone who is in a similar possition to where I was. And to the rest, enjoy the vid.
