By the way. Went up the field today. One of the guys has just converted his 500 to FBL with a microbeast. Loves it and I have to say it looked very stable with a strong tail.
Also watch one of the guys with a 700n on 3G. Again looked very good with a strong tail and no nodding in forward flight. Appaerently much better with the firmware update.
From what I could see the MB was good, but at my level I couldn't see any significant benefit of one over the other.
What I did see was a benefit to the 700 which ran out of fuel some way off patch and was able to auto in forward flight back to the patch in a composed manner to turn tail in and land. I was amazed how much energy the 700 blades had in reserve. I don't thing negative pitch was used at all.

I would have a Mosquito.
If it had to be RC then my 500 would be my choice.Nik.

Although, I've never seen, let alone flown, one. it does seem to be a perfect compromise. I am assuming it handles the weather even better than the 500, which in itself does well.Originally posted by Wayne's World View PostI love all my helis, from the small to the large. But if I had to have just 1 heli it would have to be the 550 3G, simples!

If I had to pick one of my fleet which is a 450 v2 600nsp and avant aurora it would be the avant because 1- it flys lovely (can't wait to try some 3d only been doing sport flying) 2- because it looks lush and 3- it's cost me alot of money.
Hopefully I wouldn't have to pick one because i love all 3.
The 450 is like being on the sim so it hits the deck quiet oftern but is cheap to repair
600 is a good Heli and I enjoy slowly trying new stuff iv been practicing on the sim
And the avant is pure awesomeness
Thanks

Tha call of the 700 is definately there. And a 700n isn't much more without fuel than a 550e with a few batteries.
Just seems a bit OTT, and I suspect expensive to run, for someone who isn't even flipping or rolling yet other than on the sim. That said I'm hoping the new arival coming to a store near you in March (until they put the date back) might help me move to some big steps into reality with more advanced moves.
