I sold my 450 pro to a fellow member on here a few months back.
It was in MINT condition & perfect working order & I confidently described it as such in my description. The purchaser was delighted with it, and he also posted the fact on the original for sale thread.
In subsequent posts over the next few days he remarked how thrilled he was with the heli & how well it flew.
Then bang I then receive a PM asking if I'd ever had any problem with the aileron servo as it was jittering a bit & losing centre. Obviously, three or four days have now passed and the heli has been flown a few times..Plus, Align servos are currently getting a bit of bad press for developing the exact same fault..So what do I do? '**** off it's Your problem now'?? Well I value my reputation on here as an honest seller & I felt bad for the guy so I instantly refunded £25.00 to cover the cost of a replacement servo.
I know I needn't have, but that's just who I am.

And this is what i class as above the call of duty.
It is my pro as described above, bought of gazza by myself, was exactly as described and i was a very happy man.
But on the second flight the servo started gittering, so pm'd Gazz to ask if he had had any issues, not asking for money, just a question, Gazz came straight back obviously devistated i had found an issue, and offered to refund me for a new servo, that i was obviously very greatfull about but not nessersary, and i still regard it as a prime example of superb selling.
Anyway, about a month later, i had a total servo failiure, , so these things do happen, and i did not even think of contacting Gazz this time round, though i did think of sending Align an email about it, these servo are really hit and miss by the sounds of it over the months, even though since they have been fine, maybe they fixed the issue.
I also have had an issue when selling something, and a couple of bearings were shot, my fault and i straight away gave a refund of more than the cost of parts and a massive apology. Something in all the stuff i sale i can't believe i missed.James

Yes I was devastated to say the least. It just looked awfully 'Dodgy' on my part for you to develop the aforementioned issue only a couple of flights into ownership..
As I said at the time it was just bloody awful timing for the servo to go bad. It had certainly never misbehaved at any point in its life for me.
That said, I did feel great sympathy looking at it from your point of view & as an honest bloke I just felt it was the right thing to do and I wanted to correct the situation. The money didn't matter a crap to me, my reputatation however, did & doesCheers,
Gazza

I'm not going to read the whole thread, but IMO going public is the wrong thing to do mate. I don't know either of you and I certainly don't know the circumstances of this situation, but if you can't resolve it through PM, surely it would be best to go the mods?
Who knows, RM may have randomly decided to open the box up and check it, could have dropped it etc.Harry

Has it not occured to you to talk to each other civily on the phone? If the two of you actually talked to each other then maybe you could have sorted this out with a lot less hassel.
I can hear the conversation now.....
Buyer, Bad news the helis damaged in transit.
Seller, crap, whats wrong with it?
Buyer, this that and the next thing.
Seller, ok tell you what, list the faulty/damaged parts, I'll send them asap and please keep the original packaging as I will claim off the courier....
buyer, ok cheers........
I think the above is how most people would expect the events to go in this situation.
Posts on the forum can easily lead to mis-readings of intentions and tone cannot be conveyed.
Best bet is get on phone be polite to each other and compromise accordingly.ONE Eddie Gold Star!

To me I have a few issues as I said we have.
1. A Post that outlines the best practices for selling - http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/sale/2...-listings.html
2. The Title of this thread imply's that this was Pete's intentions and TBH
- Doesn't make sense for a well respected member to even attempt sell unfit goods just doesn't add up.
3. The impression I get is that something happened to the goods in transit as neither party can pictorially vouch for the condition of the goods shipped or the goods on arrival. Yes Gareth has posted pictures but again - if I had shipped off a perfectly flyable model and to all intense now is far from it I would be a tad reluctant to move (The title doesn't help either!!).
I've closed the thread as the two need to work this out in private TBH - if you need a mediator then fine we can open our private corner and you can appoint your own mediator if you like but you should both be able to reach a suitable middle ground.
If it was me - if I wanted the heli then I'd be happy to accept replacement parts for parts needed to put the heli back to its condition as described. To send the heli back and forth just seems madness and drag's out the whole episode. But that's me.....
I don't want to see any heli burning or donations out of this either times are tough enough without people burning hard earned money. If you want to give it away then I'd suggest your local air ambulance charity.Cheers
Stuart
