    Timmy ... you aint " better " than anyone m8e ...

1... you can't pass a B so that sorta puts you behind 90% of the pilots that are around ....
2... you never had to compete against anyone so that proves point 1....
3... why not next time someone has a flyin go and have a little comp against say a pilot that aint the top 5% and let your peers judge you , that way you can see if you are better than others

Timmy .... you aint better than a sports flier m8e as they have past there A at least ...3D aint the be all and end all in this hobby m8e ... I can outfly you for smoothness and will put it to a comp with you if you like ... so to be fair ... I am better than you and can prove it as I have my A and practising for my B .. Now 3D Yeh you are better than me at which is fair enough , but to keep hammering it that " you" are better than 90% of the 3d pilots is ****ing people off and in the end

when you go to a flyin ... no-one will speak to you and you will end up in obscurity , but like you say you aint in the hobby to make friend , but to beat people ... but you cant beat anyone because you cant pass the B so am afraid m8e that your statement are untrue .. Oh I still like ya so dont take this personally m8e arrogant as you maybe in the hobby lmao ...

So you guys may well come across a few more arrogant, self taught and completely 3d motivated micro enthusiasts just like me in future. Muhuhahahaaaa!!

Even in a comp of smaller helis, there will be an expected standard, and most comp organisors will always go for the B as this is the standard across all of the UK.
Myself and my mate are going to this week start intensive B practice, yes it will be boring compared to 3d flying but i think of it as more of a personnal achievement, something to be proud of, not an iritating obsticle.
Why don't you just put in 2 weeks of hard practice and have another go at the charmouth fly-in.
I love 3d, thats what i like and want to be good at, but i know i have along way to go to be competative, probably not really good for another couple of years at least, but i don't want to entre comps to prove i am better than anyone, i want to do it for myself, again an achievement to have the balls to get out there and fly in front of a huge ammount of people and enjoy it, i use to compete in rc car racing, and loved the buzz, and want the same in helis.
I have a huge ammount of respect to anyone that entres these comps no matter how good they are, just for having the guts to fly when you know everyone is watching.

Funny, you don't get Mark Christy or Duncan Osbourne on here claiming how much better they are than everyone else

They have the dignity to let others be the judge.

Bit of an insult to the good Szabo name though Liam
I was speaking with the man himself yesterday and I can indeed confirm I didn't have to lie down between his legs to see his face...Unlike someone else we're familiar with

                  James.

You don't know how wrong that statement is.

I have spent the last month practicing for my "B" test and can honestly say I am a much better pilot (Yes tonnes better) than I was a month ago and it was not boring by any standards.

I can also fly a little 3D here and there so can now add some precision into my routine aswell now because I have all orientations covered.

Yes Timmy stick banging and precision hovering has a place in all the best pilots routines so in effect "you" can stick bang but you can't hover precicely.

                  Who is the best pilot...????

You or the man who can do both.

Just to reiterate a few misgivings on your part Timmy.

1/ The Bmfa helicopter Achievement scheme B test isn’t a license to fly but is accepted
by most competition organizers as the minimum set standard for entry into competition.

2/ The examiner is ratified by the Bmfa to take the test & doesn’t have to be able
to achieve the required standard of flying himself that will be expected of the test applicant i.e. you.

3/ The examiner gives up his time for free & has gone through intense training to ensure that the standards of the test are the same at all regions throughout the country.

4/ You have to earn your B, no examiner worth his salt will just sign it up because you can do reverse chaos if that happened & anyone found out he would be removed from the list of examiners.

Timmy you seem to have this anti disestablishment attitude mate.
Believe me it won’t get you anywhere in life, I should know
To be really successful in this game you’re going to need a lot of help & support from the trade & your fellow competitors, both at local level & world class level. The very same people who are looking at everything you post & making judgment on you.
The best advice I can give if you’re willing to listen is,
Go & practice the B test on a simulator, then put in a few days practice for real.
If your as good as you think you will easily pass with a bit of effort.
Swallow your pride & organize a retest for your B
When you’ve passed enter competition & go prove yourself,
The rest i.e. sponsorship & success will follow.

Since I regard myself a considerably better pilot than you Richard I'm afraid I dont recognise your authority to examine my flying. Sorry.

I'd love to bring my 450 over sometime and show you how to fly 3d though.

Maybe mate but as youve already said yourself, I'm a better 3d pilot than you. LOL.

                        Tit.

How to win friends and influence people!!

As a rule, I don't normally get too serious on a forum, and refrain from taking part in this kind of ****ing contest, but as with any rule.........there is always an exception.

I have no real interest in being the best 3D pilot in the world, the country, or even in my own club, and therefore have nothing to prove on that front. Although I enjoy my level of 3D and strive to improve, I enjoy all aspects of model flying and do not believe that 3D flying is the be all and end all of heli flying.

Now I don't know what I have done to offend you, as far as I know we have never met (and I don't owe you any money - unless your surname is Visa!) but I am well aware of your comments about your failed B tests and subsequent negative comments about me personally. I would have commented on the earlier threads, however I was sunning myself in Corfu at the time, and the thread was locked before I got home.

With no national 3D comp placings and failed B tests to your record, your position of not excepting my authority to examine you is pretty weak. My flying CV however shows that I do have the authority whether you like it or not!.

You might consider yourself a better 3D flyer than me (and you may well be!), however, despite the fact I consider myself as no more than a club pilot, I have entered three National 3D competitions,3 FAI competitions and not come last in any of them. how many have you entered? I enter not to win, but to help support the hobby. The 3D championship is a prime example with the organisers doing a brilliant job, but if no-one entered and supported the event, there would be no event!

I do have my B cert, and I am also an examiner at club level and an Chief Examiner at Area level and Area Chief instructor both for fixed wing and Heli's. I also frequently act as demo pilot at examiner seminars and routinely demonstrate both the A and B Certificate schedule to prospective candidates - thereby placing myself in test conditions many times during the year with many spectators watching for any single mistakes I may make. I am also frequently invited to the Achievement Scheme Review Committee / council meetings as a (so called) expert.

I devote considerable time and trouble (at my own cost) helping coach people through the achievement scheme both at flying level and with machine set-up.

The day you enter a UK 3D or FAI comp, then people might take your comments more seriously. Of course to do that you will almost certainly need a B certificate . If you are as good as you think, then sponsorship may follow, but remeber that it is not just the flying that gets a good pilot sponsored, it is his (or her) attitude that is looked at to see if the person is suitable to promote their products

If you are really as good as you believe you are, then prove it. No-one would be happier seeing you with a B certificate than me, and I remain more than happy to meet up with you at Busterboy's place and help coach you in what is required to pass the B cert and conduct the test along with a second examiner (just to show that your comments about me would have no effect in my role as an examiner)

When you have successfully passed your B test, I would be more than happy to watch a 3D demonstration from you

For all of you (most of whom I don't think I know) who have supported me in this thread and in the previous ones with regard to Timmy B's comments, I just want to say that it is much appreciated and makes me feel that the effort I ( and many others) put back in to the hobby is not wasted.

Theres about as much chance of me doing the B as there is Rob Turnbull going on a diet lol. Its outdated and has no place in 3d competition.

It strikes me that the bmfa is made up of a bunch of officious geriatrics with very little talent and nothing better to do with their time.

I think youll find most 'sponsored' flyers on here are only given a discount. Theyve usually already spent thousands with their 'sponsors' before they get 'sponsored'. The only benefit of being 'sponsored' is to expand your head. On my budget I dont stand a chance.

So thanks but no thanks I'd rather play with my toys when I want, how I want.

ADDs kicking in now, I'm bored.

I'm gonna stick my neck out here for a change........ not like me to do that very often......

Why do we (i.e. everyone else except TimmyB) keep responding to this thread and others in the same vein? Why do we keep pandering to his attention by even giving him the time, thought and effort to post a reply?

Surely, if we all ignore him, he will go away and take his meaningless and unfulfilled comments with him. The threads concerning this issue will disappear into the black hole of the forum and peace will return to all things RCHA.

                            Just a thought.

                            Oh dear, I've just responded haven't I?

                                I would agree with Steve....

I have not commented to date and although angry now i feel the best way forward is to ignore and move on.

I think Tim's Thread desrves not to be dragged any further down this line. It should be remembered that it started as a celebration of achievement regarding members of the Stainburn club.
