I don't believe their estimates of the winds. Other sites suggest that it will be stronger than 5 or 6mph.

i had my 600 in the van today as i was "passing " the field! to and from work,done a tank then got well cold and the light was fadding errrr i dont get much time at the mo with other things taking priority .

Three tanks on the 700.. first working on aileron tock-tocks and the second two on inverted circuits..then the chill started to get through to me. I switched to the 500 for 3 batts...started on backwards upright but the breeze picked up enough to make my brain hurt from concentrating...fingers got chilly and went home..

Yea they are meant to not be at there best but tbo i cannot tell any difference between flying a good pack in zero temps to flying in 80 deg

Lipo's may not like the cold but at least they wont make my car smell of nitro & i there's no risk of getting it all over the interior. Hey i envy you having a flyable 450 right now..unlike mine

Last min arrangement and met up with Kol down one of our local fields where electric flight is permitted. Next year they're building a new school on it , so grabbing all the time we can to fly there.

4 lipos out on the 500 today and 4 on the Stryker - a little noticable difference in performance, in the cold, but not enough to worry about. Really enjoying the 500 and nice to actually get a chance to fly it. Some pics Kol took for me. (cheers mate)

I flew my 600 at work today during lunch.. Managed to grab 5 minutes between showers. A work colleague asked me how high I can go - not a good thing to say - so I took it up till it was a spec in the sky, he was impressed. On the way back down the heli drifted away from me and in the cloudy sky I lost orientation, luckily all the time I've spent on phoenix paid off as I found myself stirring the sticks till I realised what my heading was (and inverted), safely brought the heli back and landed. It can't be said enough, practise practise practise on the sim, even if its boring. The sim helped me not to panic in the situation and keep a clear head as I figured out where the heli was. Ps: its bloody freezing.

I flew this morning and planted my 450 in the first 20 seconds doing a basic circle. Don't know if my thumbs froze in the cold or my brain did....the result was the same...It went a bit high and then I lost orientation and stood and watched while it plumeted into the deck. I had ages to sort it out, but didn't.

Oh well, I was going to strip it down for a service soon anyway and the amount of damage was surprisngly minor.
