  • They were looking good too Dave

Im happy with clockwise backwards inverted, so will crack on with anti-clockwise. Also want to become a bit more comfortable with letting the heli move past me backwards, going into an anti-clockwise backwards ciruit.

Going to get some more flights in during the week hopefully

    • No not flown yet, I should revieve my tail pully or whatever it is (gear that drives the belt) for the Logo today so i'll get to fly that again at last. Firt though i'm going to attack the 2 2inch pipes in the living room going to the old back boiler with a very large angle grinder

will your boiler be going for a fly out the door down to the bottom of the garden later?

when do you want the keychain cam? If you still want to use it I would suggest stopping it every ten minutes and re-record again to make sure you get some footage. As you can see its not the best camera for your flying lesson as you wont want to be farting about pressing buttons in the air, but you're still more than welcome to try it.

        • The boiler is staying for now, i got the pipes out after angle grinding and 3 tubs of elbow grease. As for the camera...well my wife will be videoing my take off and depart, and my approach and landing which i shall post on youtube. I went round 3djim's house this evening and he's lent me his HD camcorder which he's just got....what a star. Getting an in cockpit, bubble, fuselage whatever it is video would have been fantastic but i'll be very happy with this & a few pics. Thanks again though.

I'm a little nervous right now actually

              • Just come back from my field, 4 tanks through the 700 and 4 packs through my Telink foamy plank. Wind was very gusty, but great practise trying to stay in control (especially with the EPP plank that weighs nothing!)

Been quite windy here at the top of the seven estuary for a few weeks now, looking forward to some calmer evenings.

                  • 'Just got back about an hour or so ago.

I flew the Hirobo evo 50 for the first time in a few weeks and it still rocks. It tracks so straight and precise and I just love that. It flies like a smaller version of the Robbe Futura. I did some more autos and got a few just floating gracefully at the end, so I'm pleased about that.

I was also very pleased about getting the tail holding properly on my Trex 450, I upped the headspeed by using a bigger pinion, reduced the pitch range a bit to compensate, also moved the tail linkage in one hole on the servo arm. The result of all that was the heli being very well behaved doing loops and rolls and stuff. And then I dumb-thumbed not getting back into positive pitch fast enough coming out from inverted to level again and the ground came up out of nowhere! (typical damage, blades, boom, probably main shaft, but no stripped servos )

I got too much sun as well. My shoulders are lobsterised.

Yeah, I think I have the feel for it now. My first few a while back were a bit amusing I have to say. No damage but some pretty silly flopping over in the long grass. (This was with the Ely.Q and I think I was giving it too much negative and was out of the sweet spot).

Now I just need to judge where to start the descent to end up in front of myself instead of way down the field

Yes, i had that sussed but hadn't done any for ages due to my Logo being grounded (& my 450) I've just started flying the logo again & my auto's are slowly getting closer. Before being grounded i got to the land where you take off from stage. I find it needs to be almost as though it looks like your flying about 1ft in front of your flight line 150- 200ft up & at whatever distance away from your side. Try the 1ft in front bit &b let us know what happens.

Yeah, I'm concentrating on keeping it moving forward and the rate of descent and always end up going past me and way down the field. Which is no biggie because I just take off again and go back up. I think it's just getting to where I don't have to concentrate as much on the pitch and everything and can think about where I'm going to bring it in.

the freya and turbulence 90's are even better than the sceadu/sdx50 at auto's
i can even get a full circuit with the turbulence in an auto on a windy day

i had a chap turn up at the field today that i hadn't seen in ages with a milli powered by a ys 90 and it flew a real treat
