It was sunny as usual at MK. It was also warm and unusually, no wind.

I had a fabulous day's flying, 11 flights altogether and scintillating chat with my friends. What could be better?

2x packs of auto practice on my E700, now with Align 600MX motor, Vbar silverline and the BL815s again, as I took the motor, servos and Neo for my new Logo 600.
2x packs thrashing the Trex 700L about.

A good day all round. Might be flying again tomorrow, just depends if anyone else is going. If not, I'll try to wangle a trip to the Nats as I've never been.

Yesterday I took the Beam 450 and 600 out. Both flew really well, I was very pleased. Then the bolt came out of the boom supports on the 450 where they attach to the boom, saw them hanging and was able to land safely. After that the 600 suddenly lost power about 14 feet up and level and caused a pretty hard landing (just broken skids and torn canopy, fortunately I was flying with a canopy that was already pretty rough looking). I think this was an ESC shutdown due to me being too heavy-handed on the pitch I was planning to fit a different FBL unit anyway so when I do the repairs I'll swap out the ESC for a bigger one. That's the heli hobby for ya.

What a great weekend! I didn't get to the Nationals in the end as the weather was so good I couldn't stop flying. 81 flights over 3 days on the TRex 700.

Not been too active on here for a while, but have been busy flying!

I got 6 flights in yesterday, as well as helped get a plank set up for a newbie to the hobby. Shouldn't be long before I get him from the dark side to helis!

207 flights for the year so far.

Also we are getting a few heli fliers at the club now. And another one potentially on the way.

I have been working on inverted orientations as well as inverted FF. I went nose in inverted yesterday and think I have got to grips with that, pending more practice. Next will be side on.

Yesterday I had a really good session. I was toilet bowling a little nose in inverted lol. But when I got it under control it was very rewarding. It reminded me of my very first hover right way up. When you are battling it but then u just get a good one and it comes together! hahaha. Helis are a fantastic hobby!

Also, following the crash on the 600L due to loss of drive, I have been practicing 45 degree approaches, and also made a mandatory rule for myself that all landings are to be sideways on. Hopefully this will land me in good stead for autos once I feel confident.

So have I. I am still only doing circuits and eights but I am getting better at 45 degree descents. I have set my ESC for auto bailouts but I am too frightened to try it. Similarly I dare not try any flips loops or rolls...........yet.

What a day almost the entire membership turned up at CMHC and flew.
Managed to fly the Raptor E550 Triblade for the first time in many months and the Synergy N5C as always behaved beautifully.

Well, I had a great day today. Last Monday Andy from Sandy lost his 600 nitro into an area of dense brambles and hawthorn. So we went to look for it today. This is what I have just posted on the MK forum.


We had a look for Andy's nitro. I had a cup of coffee then a couple of flights. We then went and looked a bit more. I cut a hole in a bramble and hawthorn bush and spotted a blade. Andy and Bob the Builder went in. Bob smashed his way in with a carpenter's saw! They got the heli out and it was very little damaged. It looks as if the crash was caused by a blade holder link coming out.
There was almost no wind and it was warm and sunny. Ideal flying conditions. I tried, for the first time, hitting throttle hold, autoing a bit then switching the power back on. That may not sound like a big deal to most of you but it was very exciting for me. I did it a couple more times but then my hands were shaking so I had to go back to normal flying.
