Did some wrenching today. Got the OWB out the 600l. Had to hammer it out as it was solid. It has put 3 lines in the sleeve. I have freed it off and cleaned it out and re-assembled. It spins freely now one way and locks the other. I can hear it going over the 3 lines when i spin it, so i will order a replacement tomorrow ready for this one sticking again.
Checked the 570 out and found no damage to anything. I was gonna order a replacement tail belt but at £23 i thought i would reuse the old one. Checked every tooth and all looks good.
I had a bit of a play with the axon, i have found that it seems to take a lot more collective input to get it to lift than the 600l. It also takes alot more cyclic input to get it to do something and the tail takes very little input and is over sensitive.
I increased the total collective pitch from 11 to 13.5 degrees, i have increased the head speed by 150rpm. I increased the agility setting for the head and lowered the agility setting for the tail.
Managed to get a quick flight in before the sun set and it feels a bit better. The tail is slower to and less sensitive, and the head seems a bit quicker.
Had a scary moment tho, I did a punch out to see what the system would do. I was listening for any bogging and to get it in the ESC log so i can have a look later. I was around 2200 rpm on the head in IU1. As i shut off the collective the tail started to violently wag. I thought something had gone wrong with the tail belt again so i brought it down. I tried a very little tail input to try and steady it but it didnt feel like it was responding. I got it a foot of the ground and hit throttle hold.
Luckily it touched down on the skids and as it did i put full negative in. It didnt tip over!
Had a quick look over it and all looked ok so i figured it must be a function of tail gain. I know at hard stops if it wags violently the gain is too high.
I lowered the tail gain a little and tried it again in normal mode (1900rpm) and it didnt do it. Tried again in IU1 and again it was ok.
Came home and i have dropped the headspeed down to 2100 for IU1. I will get out in the week and have another go. In the logs from tonight i peaked at 80A. The ESC is good for 120A. So i have plenty of head roomLast edited by cjm180; 17-04-2017, 10:46 PM.Kr

Dusted off the 450l tonight. Not flown it in about 5 months. Had a giggle with it. Pushed the boat a little further and was getting a little silly with it. But managed to correct everything. Really enjoyed flying it about!
Another go with the goblin tonight. Thought i had the fast oscillation in the tail sorted. I did a punch out and nothing. Great. Towards the end of the 6 minute flight i came out of a loop really fast and all of a sudden bang, its trying to oscilate itself to bits. Added a good chunk of rudder in and it settled.
I have the gains quite low i feel. I know normally u fly with higher gains at lower head speed. Back to the drawing board.
4 flights on the 450L and 1 on the goblin 570Kr

Managed 5 flights on the 600l before the sun went in. Flew in a farmers field which I have not been to before. Really struggling to get my entry into the loops and stall turns nice, still coming out of the manoeuvre all over the place.
Spent the last pack as it was getting dark on nose in hovering. Back to basics!
That's 42 flights across the fleet for the YTDLast edited by cjm180; 19-04-2017, 08:59 PM.Kr

First (and only) flight in 2 months and it showed! Thinking to myself I must fix this tail wag (Oxy3) when I discovered the ground had risen by a foot since taking off. The only visible damage is to the main gear; guess what part Fast-Lads don't have in stock?

It was a fantastic sunny day at MK today. Just about perfect weather and excellent company.
I got in seven flights. If this keeps up there may be some danger that my flying ability will improve!Tron 7.0 advance Vbar evo V Control

One of the best days of the year for flying at the Central Model Heli Club.
5 Flights on the Goblin 380 practicing flying backwards circuits and figure of eights and loops plus general flying like a loon with big ass grin inducing stall turns and loops. This little heli gave me so much grief last year but having ironed out all the bugs in what I think was a Friday afternoon kit I'm starting to love it.
3 Flights on the Logo 600 practicing the B moves, why are the simple hovering pieces more difficult than the real flying stuff? Guess I just don't hover much any more
5 flights on my trusty old Trex 500 beater. Progressing with inverted flight hovering in all orientations and moving around the sky (under some control). Did some fast forward flight, rolling inverted flying along inverted for a bit before rolling back. Never done that before so big smiles all round.
Lack of charged batteries eventually stopped play, roll on the next good flying day.
