Did YOU fly today??

Had 4 flights before work on the trusty 130x as the mist had lifted. Spent the last 1/2 of the second battery and last 1/2 of the last battery avoiding a dog that wanted to play with the heli...good practice doing precise landings on the car roof Had a go at a couple of loops and managed them after a fashion so happy, even managed a sort of rainbow. Getting inverted flight much more steady, still had a couple of brain fades and stuffed the heli in quite hard on one occasion. Picked it up, pulled the grass out of the gears and flew it again. Hoping to go out again at lunch. Must dig out the sim and keep the practice up as really got the bug now...

Another great day of flying, discharged 4 lipos for the 500 trying to smoothen out the new moves. Light breeze but nice and sunny. Sadly it will be my last flight for the week until next next week. Five days off well spent though, back to work tonight.

5 more batteries this lunchtime...no flying 130x's now though till fixed. The beater decided to throw the metal TT gear (B gear I think) off mid flight...that was an interesting landing! Then the new one decided that the tail servo won't work, again half way through a flight....another interesting landing as the tail was stuck in slow left piro...

On the plus side the loops are getting much better and my cyclic timing is getting better too. Practiced lots of slow squares and stationary slow piros going both directions, wasn't too bad but the wind made it more interesting

One quick flight today. Have been on Hiatus over the last 6 weeks and not so much as looked at anything heli related in that time but glad to say that the Logo put a smile back on my face.

Some of Don's lost mojo must have rubbed off on me (that sounds so wrong! LOL)

Yes, went out yesterday in gusty conditions and somehow, managed to do my first backwards inverted circuit. Had to bail out of the first attempt, second attempt was a little scruffy. But nailed it on the 3rd! will try some again next time out but hopefully with less wind!!

Today I went 'old school', nitro and flybarred and it was great! My trusty Robbe Dyna-X and Rapicon fuel. I'm surprised I remembered how to start the darn thing, I've been flying electric FBL most of the year so it was a nice change.

and how I did ... havent flown for 2 weeks but it was amazing .. really enjoyed it from first to last flight ... first 3 flights on the 550dfc ... a quick one on the 450dfc then another 5 on the 700dfc where I also did multiple nose in loops (so towards me) for the first time, some tic tocs still needs better timing ... but really enjoyed it today ...

Yes, I flew a BLADENANO CP X outside it was a bit windy but it was great...

there is no other way to fly

although i did fly an old xcell 50 today that had been converted to flybarless
and with old castor based fuel
you can't beet the smell of castor
it reminds me of my motox days with the odd bike running castrol r


it was the first xcell i've ever flown and what a lovely heli to fly

Yeah I caught a whiff or two of caster oil based fuel today because some of the fixed-wing guys use it. I have yet to fly an Xcell myself. I did babysit Acid's old Xcell gasser some years ago but it was just here for a little while and then someone bought it.
