Did YOU fly today??

well ... it was cold but nice ... headed to the field after 2 weeks not touching the sticks ... wanted to put through at least all packs once ...

started off with the 500 and it did go amazingly well, so I had that "you need to try something new" in my head since the first flight ... after the 3rd pack I thought to myself, "what about trying stationary loops" ... well ... asked some chaps at the club if my understanding was correct, though I have done it on the sim multiple times - quick presentation by a fellow member and then I tried it myself ... didnt go to well but definitely a few were quite ok for a first time ... had another flight, tried it again and a few near incidents but ok ...

then I took the 700 out, it was getting dark already but I wanted the flatten the packs anyway ... first flight, usual procedure - all good, 2nd flight not bad at all, but due to a cold thumb I let a fellow member have a go for the remaining minute on my 700dfc as he had never flown a 90 size model ... last flight all alone at the field, up in the air regular procedure but that little voice: "try it, try it" ... so I did a few stationary loops, all good, landed the 700 safely - realised one satellite was flashing when I landed so might needs relocating ... actually a quite good day after all ...

yes i got the Southampton flying Field early and stood there doing nice clean figure of eights and some nice smooth stall turns and doing some lovely moving pirouettes and was happy

the i watched as more people turned up and had some really amazing flights and i was in pressed so i went to do a little light flying and i was so nervous flying in front of this big mob of guys with there Hugh machines i papped it my figure of eights where erm well not figure of eights and my stall turns where fly high and level out lol only thing i could do right was a pirouette but how can you mess that up right

anyway i did get a laughter when on a return flight my Helli ended up a 1inch are 2 off the floor in forward flight not sure what happened but major work is needed to make the next 1 look like flying maybe who knows

Flew today. First time in ages

Lovely weather. A bit nippy but soon warmed up.

Looking forward to the winter as I get for 'field' time than in the summer

Today was quite a turnaround in the weather, no wind and warm enough for just a T-shirt! I decided to spend some time making sure a couple of my nitros are tuned properly so I did the idle pinch tests and got the idle mixes set and both needles. They were not way off to begin with but I needed that peace of mind knowing I went through the process. But my 500 went it. I think the ESC packed up, it just suddenly lost power and fortunately it was in level flight and landed on the skids so the damage is very minor but I prob need to look for a new ESC now.

Went down the field this afternoon 4 flight with my Trex600N with Beastx, everything going fine I was flying better than ever..... for me, had to pack in due to failing light. weather was superb for flying on the cliff top in Lowestoft

Went to our field today with just the Trex500 (Fusions not been fixed from its main gear tooth loss yet - have the parts just couldn't be arsed this week)...
6 packs flown - circuits still and nose-in hovering .... did manage a slow piro (30s maybe) on my last pack as well ... doing more orientation exercises lately. Need to slow the piros down to 60s or so but feeling happier switching between orientations without major corrections.

Was fun and no incidents which is always nice

Didn't fly half as much as I should have as was soldering EC5 connectors to 6s 500 packs most of the day.
A Fools errand it turned out to be in the end

sorry state shes in mate, not for long though..just come home from the field myself had a very good morning until coming in to land and snap, tail drive belt gone, very little damage shaft and fly bar and a belt,

All mended now.
Boom, gears, shaft, spindle, blades, flybar and a couple of links.
Three hours tops.

4 break-in flights on my new nano motor today with more to follow soon while I wait for parts to arrive at work. Really shows how handy it is to have a micro heli when the weather's as miserable as it is and the nitros have to be parked up.

I got to fly today at South Cheshire Helliaddicts (Winsford). A bit windy for me so only two batteries through my 450. A very friendly bunch of guys, with a very muddy field. When I got home at 3pm there was no wind at all so I maidened my Hughes 500E (450 heli) over the cricket pitch before the F1 GP started.

The MCPX is out of actions as i have to send 2 servo's off to horizon. So Stanley speel kindly let me have 2 flights on his 130 and on his 450. Also done 3 flights on the mcx2 with orientation.

following my first stationary loops, tumble what ever on last weeks Sunday ... I took the 500 out today and had a three flights on it continuing the previous, when I though screw it try a inverted nose-in hover, so I did ... was amazing, heli just stood there, locked in ... nice ... pulled out of it, due to the winds a bit off ... overexcited how I was I tried it again ... well ... inverted, drift, wrong right, left, incoming ..... followed by a big *SPLASH* into the puddles ... the usual suspects but will be in the air again by the weekend ...

still amazed about the first inverted hover though ...
