I have just built my very first helicopter, a trex 450L dominator, 6s, gpro and had my first 2 flights yesterday after 2 month on sim, i was shaking like a leaf and no crashes, nearly had a slipup as it took me 1min30 to land on second battery and on recharge i was 150mah short of full capacity! awesome experience.

Fantastic, really looking forward to my maiden flights. Sounds like the sim really did it's job.

Yes peteski, the AccuRC sim has realy done its job as i'd no idea how to fly helicopters and even the setup on it taught me the basics, when i flew for real tho i couldnt do anything but goodish hover, fwd, backward movement only, darenot try to even fly round, realy enjoyed tho but very nerve racking.

I'm pretty sure that's how I will approach it too Paul. I can fly fairly aggressively on the sim after a month of practice, but I know in reality I would just hover to start with. Main thing is you didn't crash, so I believe that already puts you in a minority of first time CP flyers!

sort of... went to put a couple of packs through my mini titan e325, took off ok, in idle up 1, switched to idle up 2 and not sure what happened but heli seemed to instantly go out of balance, tried to get it down, but it went in quite hard, snapped the head off, totalled my 10 flight old blades, and made a bit of a mess! only had ten flights on it since i rebuilt it following a crash! never had that happen on any of my helis before, so need to examine the wreckage!
Well after a stressfull moment in the garage with the bike I picked the logo up of the shelf & had a 5sec hover in the garden. I'm too rusty to attempt any longer and done a mini auto. First flight since the vbar set up.
Well I just put my packs on charge and they're all a bit fooked, the newest has a cell down to 2v . Oh well my fault for leaving them as they were for 16 months & they're all a tad puffy. Ah what the heck the weathers ok tomorrow, the TX is on charge & i need a break from the bike stress so after work i'll be off to one of my fields for a few flights. God knows what will happen after that long away from the sticks.
