Tennis as above or with a friend as you will be more than two meters away.
so no more than 2 people on the golf course?

      or

      at the tennis club.

Clear as mud and obviously carefully thought through. Not that it matters to me as I don’t even belong to a club, yet!

There is nothing hard to understand here.

Golf is easy to sort, as from the sounds of it you will start playing at timed slots so yes more than two on the course at a time.

I'm still not seeing the issue. If you are not all stood around in a group, and only one of you is stood at the pad, or 2 of you if you can stand 2m apart, then as far as I can see you are following the guidance on the gov.uk website

Equally you can say you are all flying at different times so only one on the flying pad at a time.

I personally don't see a problem at all as I want to get back flying too as soon as. But under what was said you would be outside the rules if multiple members was standing around that know each other.

I think the best way forward is if any club can find a way round this problem and help each other out as plan to get flying

I'm still confused about where you are getting the bit about knowing each other. The guidance doesn't say anything about only being in a place where you don't know anyone. It's all there in writing on the gov website. Christ if I can't be in the same place as people I know I'd be house bound as I live next to a park and all my neighbours use the same park, and so do a lot of friends. If I'm not stood around talking to them I'm following the guidelines, and that's no difference to being at the field.

Yes I'm not saying that you won't see a neighbor a friend or even a family member while out and about or at a park. But the point is you didn't plan to meet up with them.
But if your at your registered bmfa flying site and there is more than one other member there then technically it doesn't meet the rules. As it's a gathering of people you know.

Personally I don't really care I'm just pointing out what was said by boris. As long as your two meters apart minimum I don't see a problem

But this is stopping some clubs from starting back up

I personally think social distancing and following the email from the bmfa today I don't see a problem. Only problem could be if the land owner doesn't give you permission to use the club area

So if any club see’s a way to operate again please post and let us know

I've been thinking about this today, seeing as I effectively run our club. Ultimately, I think it will be down to the members, what they want to do. I'm not expecting high demand.

Not only are we a very small club, but almost everyone is over 60, and I don't really think many will be willing to take any risk, no matter how small. We do have one member who's had covid-19 and was hospitalised by it. He's a doctor that works in a hospital, also in his early 60s, and he is recovering at home now.

I think I'll ask people to either post to the whats app group any intended flying times, or set up a shared google calendar that people can plan flying time on, and limit it to two cars at a time parked a few meters apart. It's not like we struggle for room, and only one person ever flies at a time unless someone is test hovering or something like that.

I am thinking I will go at the earliest legal opportunity (watch the weather be awful from now on), but I will be making sure nobody else will be there before I travel so the risk will be effectively the same as going into the garden. I've literally had one helicopter flight in the last 7 months, so I'm really itching to fly, even though the social aspect is far more important to me, but that's pretty much a no go for a few weeks yet, minimum.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

The way i see it is a flying club is a gathering of people not from same household and is still not allowed.

Personally i think the lockdown should continue or should have been much more strictly enforced in the first place.

Maybe it's just the way I see flying. For me I go to the club to fly, if there is someone there I might chat to them for a bit but the main reason for me going is to fly. So for me if it means only going alone, or having to be spaced out several meters and not 'congregate' to meet the lockdown rules then I don't see a problem with that. Others are more in it for the social side and are happy to go to the field and fly once all day, and it's that which would break the rules. I certainly don't want to put myself or my family at further risk, but I don't see how clubs can't manage this simply to limit numbers and ensure everyone that wants to fly can at least do so at some point.

I certainly don't see why people stood in an open field with upwards of 2m gaps is breaking the guidance, and remember, go by the written guidance not what Boris 'says' as the words spoken are often different from the written guidance.

By arrangement sure meet 1 person. Apart from George I don’t arrange to fly with anyone at a model club so that ticks the box. Apply social distancing and crack on. If the field had 10 people just not an issue, outdoors, apply the separation and haven’t arranged to see them. That quite legitimately fulfills the brief.

Shopping in Tesco with all the numpties barging past you is way more risky that open air activities. Crikey I see more people cycling than ever see at the field.

So for me back to flying and enjoy it. Don’t be stupid and have a bit of common sense.

But as with most guidance if you want to apply your own stricter rules go ahead it’s personal choice. Is the man in blue going to fine you for flying from Wednesday appears not.
