£400 Budget. What can i get.

Evening all. Im looking to get myself a new heli sometime soon. Ive got a Blade 230s which is a little past its best that i really enjoy flying. So over the rainy season will be getting a freshen up.
But looking to upgrade a little too. My budget limit is £400. I could go higher but would struggle to justify it to my good lady. Im after a complete (or almost complete) heli for that price. Complete or in kit form. Not including the radio gear.
What would you recommend good people?

If buying new then the new Trex 470L is worth a close look at, it's slightly larger than the traditional 450 size and the Trex kit comes with everything you need except receiver and batteries. It comes in two versions, the 470LP has plastic head and tail assembly and retails a bit below your budget. The 470LM has all alloy parts and normally retails a little above your price but right now most dealers have discount for Black Friday so you could get one.

For instance: Trex 470LM Super Combo 6S BeastX [RH47E01XT] (less 5% Black Friday discount = £399)

The second hand market opens up many more opportunities.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Im only on my phone at the moment so will take a look tomorrow on a full size screen at work and do a little homework. Id idealy like brand new but open to 2nd hand as long as im not buying a crashed heli thats been fixed up.
Also would prefer at least the next size up from the 230.

ive got a 450l dominator for sale, it has been crashed once but I have repaired it fully. It comes with a few spares and four flight packs, and I only want just over £100 for it. could do with a new canopy if your fussy but just add a tx and its ready to go!

I know you said you wanted a new one but may be worth a look, I'm sure a few members on here will attest to the maintenance standard of my helis, maj on here has just bought one off me and is very happy

A 550 heli is a great size but just to warn you it would be an huge step up in size from a 230. The bigger they are the easier they are to fly, but the big ones are also very intimidating and you need a suitable place to fly them. As the helis get bigger the cost stuff such as batteries and the chargers increases rapidly too... Not trying to steer you in any particular direction here, just making you aware.

Id probably +1 here too rich. I did pm you about my 550 too last night but I guess it is quite a jump from a 230.. I did have a couple of 450 size helis myself inbetween micros and the 550.
I missed the 450 size too when I had sold them all, my G380 now is probably my most flown heli.. Absolutely love it to be honest! 400quid would buy a nice used one now aswel

Evening all. Ive spent the last couple of days looking at whats out there. Parts availability and quality. I love the look of the Sab Goblin but way out of my price range unfortunately. Ive ordered a new Trex 450 which seem to be a popular item. Also i think it wont be so intimidating size wise. Got it in a black friday deal aswell.
But i do need a 6ch reciever for it. Anyone got any recommendations or ones to avoid?

Assuming that with a blade 230 you have a Spektrum tx? What FBL unit do you have with the 450 kit? as it usually means that you can use a Spektrum remote receiver... https://www.align-trex.co.uk/spektru...r-spm9645.html

The reason i baught in kit form is ive never built my own and thought its time to learn.
Ive had the 230 to bits and back together due to a crash whilst inverted.
So, from the missus saying to me "treat yourself" here we are.
Im confident itll be ok but plan on taking my time with it.
No real rush to get it in the air. Just time to learn.

If you do have a Spektrum Tx the remote receiver listed in my above post would work, but you would need the adapter.

Presuming you already have a Spektrum Tx, you can use a single Spektrum remote Rx (satellite) with your 450 and Beast X. You also need the Spektrum satellite adaptor cable to hook it up to your Microbeast. These are the exact parts you need:-

DSMX Remote Receiver (SPM9645): Spektrum - The Leader in Spread Spectrum Technology

and adaptor cable:-

Spektrum Satellite Adapter (BTXA76009): Spektrum - The Leader in Spread Spectrum Technology

Your only other alternatives are a full Spektrum Rx (slightly overkill on a 450) or Spektrum compatible options from third party vendors like Orange or Lemon.
