I "think" i may have a Spectrum Dxe. Ill have to take a look when i get home.
Im happy to buy a new transmitter if the Dxe is no use?
    It came with the 230.
If thats the case, what radio/reciever would you reccomend?
Sorry for all the questions but please bear with me.

    Cheers

A new DX8 would be a good future-proof choice, but a DX6 or 7 would get the job done too with a few less channels. There are plenty of other options, but those are the obvious ones and they will fly your 230S too.

If you were me would you be buying a DX8 (or such like) now or get one at a later date and use the Dxe that you (i) already have and are used too?
The DXE is very basic with only trim adjustment and never used a radio set that has all of the adjustments that most use.
Am i taking on too much too soon or should i just go for it?

I would go for it at this point. You need a decent programmable radio once you get into kit build helis with a full FBL setup. I suggested Spektrum because it pairs very well with your Microbeast. I have that exact setup on my OXY 3 (with an older DX8) and it's been faultless and relatively easy to program. A new DX6 is really the minimum spec I would consider. The DX7 and 8 have extra channels, which are really useful if you want to use rescue (but it can be done with 6 channels too - just not quite as intuitive to set up). Microbeast doesn't actually come as standard with rescue, but can be upgraded in firmware at a cost. Something else for you to consider if you are used to having rescue on your 230S.

I think ill have to plump for a DX6 unfortunately.
Still need to get batterie(s), charger and the reciever unit yet.
                  But the prices vary???

                  Any reccomendations on the 6?

                  Cheers

P.S Really really thanks everyone for the help.
Id probably be buying all the wrong items if it wasnt for you lot.

It looks like there is now a budget DX6e, which I'm not familiar with. It may be okay, but not sure. Also some packages come with a Rx, which you don't really need with a 450. As I mentioned earlier a Remote Rx (satellite) is all you need for that size model. I would get the latest DX6 (not the budget e or i versions) without an Rx and then buy the satellite and Microbeast adaptor cable I linked to in an earlier post. That's all you need to get it flying on BeastX and should keep you going for several years at least.

Here's a comparison chart of Spektrum radios. The DX6G3 is the one I recommended, but the DX6e does look pretty well capable too if you are on a very tight budget. It lacks swashplate mixing, but that's done directly in Microbeast anyway so a pretty redundant feature. The 6e is clearly built to a price point, so may "feel" a bit cheaper too, but I've never held one in my hands. The regular DX6 (G3) feels pretty solid and certainly a well proven budget choice. There's also an older DX6i, but don't consider that one. It's running very old software and lacks simple things like a 3 way flight mode switch and an automatic flight timer.

Transmitters are a bit like shoes, you needs something that fits. Very much a personal choice. Sticks are height adjustable, but you need to hold it to to get the feel. Smooth gimbals also help, and budget prices may lack in quality. This is one area you should try before you buy.

That would be a great choice and set you up for the long term. I have the older DX8 Gen 1 and it's been very good to me over the last couple of years. I use it for everything including the sim and micros and it's been completely faultless. The Gen 2 DX8 has all the latest bells and whistles and enough channels to future-proof it for most users. For example it's nice to have a spare dedicated channel for rescue rather than having to share the gyro channel, which can be a bit confusing.
