Well done MarkOriginally posted by Mark Chaplin View PostNo bolts holding the tail grips on?
Mark.
Basically one of the bolts had backed right out and it was only the tail blade that was probably stopping it from coming out. We took the tail blades off. When spooling up the bearing shot out the grip and hit one of the lads on the foot. Bolt nowhere to be seen. The small washer was still stuck to the bearing with grease when i found it. So basically when the heli spooled up the bearing (not being held in place by the bolt) was backing out. This resulted in the tail locking up above half throttle due to the centifugal force. Below half throttle and there wasnt enough force to move the bearing so the tail looked normal.

Needless to say the heli now flys on rails... i tweaked the tail gain very slightly and its extremely close now. The VX1N on 3d settings did not need to be touched at all... just worked as did all mine. Happy days, he can now enjoy this heliciopter properly.

When the blue light is flashing I am kidding.
Why simplify when it is so much simpler to complicate.

Very difficult to check that one when it only locked up at half stick after spool up. Normal checks were done but regardless unless you took the tail blades off youd never really know. Tail grips certainly didnt move... again difficult to tell because the way TT mount their tail grips.Originally posted by p4ddy View PostOh dear, no pre flight checks then

It has to be said I've been snookered by this one and was my own error for not putting enough loctite on the bolts (if any!!) - usual for me too many kids and never enough time to in my world...lol
Though once it was fixed I managed to get 80% out of my flight packs fairly quickly and had some loose warmup flights for the first time really in 2014... like riding a bike abit rusty but felt at home flying the E700 feels much like the G4 just more responsive. Do miss Nitro though....
Richard was flying a very sweet Synergy N5 that was signing some loverly tunes and very much on rails also....Cheers
