Thank you Ron, it was a strange day weather wise, cloudy and very hazy, plus my 400D body was uncalibrated, so I was really fighting for these images on that day.

Heres some pics i took of the 2005 airshow as 2006 i was ill so cud not make it and the 2007 got washed out for me ... These are not as good as some of yours as they where taken with a 5500S camera .. When i seem to take pics of helis i always seem to get the rotors stopped in the pics ... Any advice on these pics will be appreciated where i going wrong >>

For helis work off around 180th to 250th in either shutter priority or manual and you'll get a bit of a blurr of the blades but it will still be fast enough to keep the heli sharp too
You can experiment with shutter speed, but I find thats the best compromise.
Mike: Does my eyes deceive me, or is that an Avro Lancaster in the middle shot?

I think it was the lancaster ... Thx Richie will try some diff settings on my camera .,.. For what i do and how many pics i take i found it was not worthwhile buying a top end slr cam so plumped for the 5500 which is ideal for me and also my little ixus which i found takes some nice pics ...
On the morning just before we set off for the Duxford Air Show, I was putting some rubbish in the wheely bin, when I heard a roar from the sky and this is what I saw.

Nice pics ...If n e of ya are off to waddington this year gis a shout be nice to meet up ....When i bought my cam i made sure i had a big mem card then that way i do get the odd good shot compared to lots of rubbish pics lol ....The equipment you guys got puts mine to shame ... But as long as we happy thats all that matters .. If I was gonna get into it some more then I would prolly invest in a nice cam and some lenses but for now am happy ....
