I'd like to share some good news that happened a little while back.
As many of you don't know I'm a very keen amateur photographer (Canon man myself) and my main interest is air show's, landscape and portrait photography.
Three weeks back I done some photo work for Mark Petro who won the best chippy award last year and previous years, and he's just opened a new chippy/restaurant in Ely.
I spent a morning with him doing a shoot with a pictorial theme of fish from the Trawler to the plate and Spuds from the field to the firer to the bag, well so far three of my images in 3x2ft sized images are now on display in the restaurant which was the whole point of the venture, plus he's opening up an above restaurant and last year I done a Barry Norman shoot with the local press, but I done a few group shots of the team and him which are also being displayed.
So I'm quite chuffed about this, and on Friday we visited Ely and went to view my work, the restaurant was packed and everyone was looking at me wondering "what's that twat doing" until I explained to a couple of friendly old gals I was the photographer then a barrage of questions were fired at me, felt really good, and they asked how they were taken and was I a pro' I said just an enthusiastic amateur, but they said you'd have never known.
In the past I've had images displayed in newspapers, on the TV with a recent Comet last year, a hot air balloon festival, plus I done the promo shots for a series called Country Lives when they filmed at Fieldview Astro guest house, among other private shoots for family and friends.
This year I purchased my dream air show lens the Canon 100-400mm IS L, a truly beautiful lens built like a tank and the optics are beyond question, so I'm looking forward to this years season as before my biggest lens has been the 70-200mm F/4 L, a great lens but hasn't the reach of my new Jobie.
Anyway I just wanted to share my good news as it doesn't happen often.
