I'm to old to camp. I reckon I'm the oldest and slowest in the Comp . My Camping days finished just after the War.

I decided 5 seconds ago that work can ram it and they can cope without me. So I will be having Friday off and driving down to you guys with my tent for a good night's sleep in the great outdoors. Ready to maybe have an early morning practice flight or 3.

So yes I'm camping too.

Don't think I will be camping as I only live 7 miles down the road but I'll be there all day Friday and Saturday can't wait! It's ganna be a laugh!

I'm starting to think this will be my first & last competition. It maybe good for giving you discipline in your flying & give you proper targets to aim for but i don't need all stress. I need to concentrate on more important things & i'm starting to feel like this is getting in the way. I'm glad i'm not a sponsored pilot or else i'd have to keep competing & going to all the funflys etc when i either haven't got the time or money to travel or just can't be bothered. Yes i'm in a negative mood again...probably after flying like stevie wonder yesterday evening I've got my Slabby head on again & i want to be getting on with that rather than flying & now's not a good time for that to happen. Oh & the weather mid week is rain & high winds 30mph.

I felt like that when I started fishing matches, it very quickly took all the fun out of the fishing itself as I was fishing for gain/prove myself rather than actually enjoying why I started fishing in the first place. It's not for everyone and the comradery was great but you won't know until you try ;-)

Ok just a bit of advice , relax !!! It's support to be fun and it is , just wait for the chears when you come back off the flightline , heli in a bin bag or not ;-)

There will always be a heli god who wins , and all credit to them but it's the fun and buzz of taking part that makes it for all, so even if you haven't a chance of pulling off the latest piro what's it but it's still fun :-) to try.

Just relax and enjoy it , oh and by the Way, the last guy I told you haven't a chance ,......he won the inters at the 3D champs lol

I am not worried about the Northeast3D Grassroots that I have entered/running as tbh I am there to have a laugh and have some fun, at the end of the day its about competing and moving your flying forward which is what flyins and also comps happen to bring out . If it starts to get too much then just dont think about it and just have fun. I have found practising my sets inbetween normal flying has brought my flying on quite alot lately and it also something for me to aim for at the end of the day lol ....I try to get to ALL the flyins withing 3-4 hours of driving as its like a family that sees each other month in month out and if it was not for this part of the hobby I would have jacked it in ages ago lol .

I can synpathise with Paddy. I had myself all worked up over the Grassroots Comp. Full of self doubt, would I make myself look foolish. It's only in this last 2 weeks I've been telling myself to calm down. Now I'm really looking forward to it. I attend most of the local fly-ins, and to be honest, you get nothing but encouragement from the people on the Fly-in circuit. But if we are honest with ourselves, we've all been in Paddys position.
Paddy I'll see you at Milton Keynes, we can worry together.. lol
