3D Champs Grass Roots 2012 at MK Heli

Guys and girls, we have been asked by 3D Champs if we would like to run the 2012 Grass Roots event at MK Heli provisionally on the 9th of June. We are honoured that they have asked us to be involved and see this as an important event in many ways. It's a stepping stone to further competitions but aside from that it's a fun event that gives you a chance to gauge your flying against others and whether competition is for you.

Unfortunately, last years event wasn't very well supported neither from pilots entering nor from spectators. It's a big thing to ask the members to give up one of their weekends and for the organisation that goes into it which is why we would like to gauge interest before we announce the event. The 3D champs website will be updated with the event soon and you will be able to place your entry there.

Come on guys, give this event some support. its a great fun event and a great starting place to see if competing is for you or just to have a good fun day out with some great like minded pilots.

some of todays top pilots in the country have broken their teeth in these grass roots competitions, so give your support and have a great day and some wonderful memories.

I was fully intending to fly there this year, but work stopped me from flying for the last 4 months or so. Because of this, I won't be entering, as I have had zero practice.

I will almost certainly come as a visitor though!

Rob just go for it. You won't regret entering just ask others who have entered on the spur of the moment.

I did exactly that 2011 signed up for it on the day as they were low on numbers, no practice or prep of any kind. go on Rob I promise you you will have a fab time.

I like Tony entered on the day due to low numbers, I had no practice just like I had for 3D Scotland, at the end of the day it's all about taking part, it feels great to be part of it, and who cares how you do, it's the experience that counts to me, it helps with nerves about flying in front of others which is what I always struggled with, I used to be embarrassed about flying in front of pilots much better than me but these comps helped me realise that eveveryone is better than me lol! Take part, you won't regret it and the MK guys are some of the most welcoming in the country with a great venue

I'd love to have a go but am a little clueless on where to start or what Standard I need to be at....... Any pointers ?

Can you hover a heli?? Yes?? You can enter then!

Ha, is there a list of manoeuvres you need to pick from ? How many rounds are there ? Can manage a hover but my 3d is a little flakey ;-) not sure you can class as 3d but what I lack in finesse I like to think I make up in enthusiasm :-)
