Blasted another two battery's though my blade tonight in Garden, hovering like a dream now even with the wind we have thanks Boggy them setting are wicked, just goes to show if you got it set up right its half the battle over and also gives you confidence to try harder when you are getting somewhere Rather than putting it in the deck all the time.

this might be a daft question but reading about Gyro's on sticky thread and was wondering how I would set up blade, would it need to be on the servo horn and also how do you switch off the HH on it and rate instead or even can you do it.

Bottle gone, I have gone through around 10 batteries now all without training gear on and only tail in hover, the problem is when it comes to do other maneuvers my bottle goes and i get the old shaky thumb, and i just go back to tail in, just don't get it I'm OK on Phoenix, would a few beers help get over the nerves or what, until i manage this i can't take the Raptor up. Whats the best way to cross the bridge between knowing you can do it, and doing it. Does'nt help trying to do it on your own either.

Sounds perfectly normal to me mate

I would suggest having someone of more experience standing with you for a few flights. That really helped me get over the shakes.

The odd word of encouragement or even having a go on a buddy box can work wonders for your confidence.

I agree with Mark, its one of those things you just have to work through, with my experience so far theres always a vast difference between what you can do on the sim and what can be done at the field, be it adrenaline, excitment or fear or a good combination of it all, but I think definately while your learning the basics theres a big difference.

I have just bought a new alloy head for my raptor 30, all complete, but i have lost one of the stainless steel collers that go in the blade grips. Does anyone know where you can get them from please.

Does no one know where you can get these from ??????, what would be the best Gyro for my raptor was looking at the GY401 are they good ones.

Have you got a part number of it mate, got some raptor spares here, but havent got the ali head on mine just the basic head.........

401 combined with a 9254 tail servo is an ideal gyro mate

No it does not have a part number on it but its like a stainless steel collet the goes on the blade holder there is two on each blade holder.

i believe alot of people use the alloy head and standard plastic blade grips Roy. you could do that till you can source some bushes!

Hi all not been on for a while, The alloy head does not have any name on it just blue anodized alloy, i am leaving it off for now and sticking with stock raptor head, been flying it quite a bit lately after flying the blade 400 its amazingly stable in the air and gives you loads of confidence, i changed the Gyro for futaba 401 and what a whopping difference to its handling. Past my A on fixed wing couple of months ago, so club are letting me fly my helicopters at field, soon be going for my A on Helli, then B fixed wing and Heli. doing really well its funny what was hard work once slowly starts to become natural to you with plenty of practice.
