Ill get the sim asap depending on money flow, i appreciate your help and ill gladly join the club , how often do you meet and fly? how often are you allowed to fly , do you mean get a TX on the simulator or get a TX in real life , also what is a TX , is that a raptor? i really dont have a clue when people say get a 30 or get a 50 or get a tx or get a 400 / 450? its all numbers and letters to me? can anyone explain this to me? ill definately start the virtual training as you all have suggested but i really need to know what helli i want so i can start my training with that helli virtually so i can learn its characteristics. i really do want one that i can learn to fly gently then once i have the hang of it learn more complicated manouvers , im not bothered wether its nitro or electric i just want a good helli so im open to all suggestions , what are the pro's and cons or nitro and electric

this is what im thinking to be honest , im not going to get another 4channel coaxial , i want to step up to something bigger faster and more challenging as in the short period i had my apache i picked it up very fast. so now im going to get a nice big helli that can do 3d , learn to fly it on the sim , then attempt a maiden flight with stuarts help now its just a case of finding the right helli for meOriginally posted by fatmantom View Posti did that.... worked well for me. by the time i flew the nitro i was very confident on the sim and the maidon flight was a breeze!

TX = Transmitter the sim uses a cable that plug's into the TX trainer port - now if you don't have the money for the TX don't worry I bought my oldest a century lama and he knacked it then his younger brother who's a professional dis-assembler took it to pieces (why do kids do that - see a toy see a screw driver and just take them to bits) so I have a TX 4 channel tx you can have its a bit battered but I'm sure they work with Phoenix. Maybe someone else can confirm they do for me.Originally posted by ApachePilotUK View PostIll get the sim asap depending on money flow, i appreciate your help and ill gladly join the club , how often do you meet and fly? how often are you allowed to fly , do you mean get a TX on the simulator or get a TX in real life , also what is a TX , is that a raptor? i really dont have a clue when people say get a 30 or get a 50 or get a tx or get a 400 / 450? its all numbers and letters to me? can anyone explain this to me? ill definately start the virtual training as you all have suggested but i really need to know what helli i want so i can start my training with that helli virtually so i can learn its characteristics. i really do want one that i can learn to fly gently then once i have the hang of it learn more complicated manouvers , im not bothered wether its nitro or electric i just want a good helli so im open to all suggestions , what are the pro's and cons or nitro and electricCheers

again your kindness is outstanding. ill definately start on a sim before attempting my maiden flight , is it hard to be self controlling and not rush out and fly it ?Originally posted by Stuartn View PostTX = Transmitter the sim uses a cable that plug's into the TX trainer port - now if you don't have the money for the TX don't worry I bought my oldest a century lama and he knacked it then his younger brother who's a professional dis-assembler took it to pieces (why do kids do that - see a toy see a screw driver and just take them to bits) so I have a TX 4 channel tx you can have its a bit battered but I'm sure they work with Phoenix. If 30 then its a done deal with 30 49bb, if 50 then a Titan or SE - I only ever flew the 30 or the 50 conversion before they even had a 50 kit.....don't buy ARTF (Almost Ready to Fly) - I don't care what anyone say's about ARTF I never trust a heli built by someone else its just far to much gamble on. Buy a kit a build it then you learn so much more then it needs its maintenance.Cheers
