  • Xmas is coming!

I have a friend of my wife's has seen my T-Rex 450 and decided that it would be a great idea to buy one as a surprise present for her husband this Xmas. Once I told her how much the T-Rex cost all up including radio, she decided that it wasn't such a good idea after all!

However, I told her that you can get into heli's for much less money and her budget is £200 max.

For that bugdet, would you recommend a coax heli such as the Blade CX2 or a full collective pitch model such as the Mini-Predator? I skipped this stage and went sraight for the T-Rex with Phoenix, so don't know which is best to recommend.

Also, is there a heli at this price point that you can self build? Knowing this guy, that would be all part of the enjoyment and learning curve for him.

Don't think she realises that one thing leads to another and he'll end up splashing the cash on a T-Rex or similar in the end anyway!

    Thanks

    Rich

I'd get her to buy the CX2 and the bling aluminium swash, shafts etc and get a spare battery and some spare blades etc. She'll spunk £180 easy. OR get him the CX2 with a Phoenix simulator if he has a computer..... Or buy the CX2 and a slection of slutty underwear. It would work for me

but i'd defo go with the CX2 so that when he thinks "its not that hard" and crash's it, it will be cheaper and the fact that there is less chance of him crashing it in the first place!.

              cheers,

On a small note.... the more I think about it the more I want to ditch my Belt Cp and build a T-Rex 450. However I'm trying desperately to think of a way to do this so the wife doesn't notice yet another toy appear in my study.... She'll just nag the shit out of me .... especially as she's after some new earings what is it with birds and jewlerry ? You can't drive it or fly it or drink it or eat it....it just sits there....what the hell's the fun in Jewellery ? Maybe I can convince her I bought a 450 for her !!!! (Can't see her buying that to be honest..... Did that with a nice Pirazzi Side by Side 20gauge last year....in very polite terms she told me to blow it out my a55)

I've toyed with this idea....but then it means she'll want something else for Christmas....and she's just smacked her car again for the second time in 3 months.... I wouldn't mind if she was 19 and blonde.... God I hope she never figures how to log into forums

                        Guys

Thanks for the humour, but would be grateful also for some real answers to the question.

You're not going to get anything worth flying (mini-pred or otherwise) in the air for a £200 budget.
For that budget, the only real choice is the Blade CX2.

                          Cheers,

                              So is that it then?

Is it a CX2 without question, or are there other potential options? Is there nothing at this price point that is a self build?
