well buy once buy right applies here...Originally posted by soggybongo View PostYou could go for a 35mhz which would save you a ton o £££ until you wish to upgrade later. if in a club go with 2.4 but if park flying on your own there aint nothing wrong with 35mhz. Yes this is old school but why buy new when you can get either 2.4/ 35 for half the price
buy the right Tranny from the Start and not upgrade 3 times and waste the cash...
as for 35mhz is okay away from a club in a park... I would dis-agree still a lot of 35mhz stuff out there and its range can cause other flyers issues, Never assume with 35mhz just because your all right some-one else is not suffering... Same applies to 2.4ghz FPV gear... just because i'm okay does not mean other people will not suffer.
Make sure Your at least 2 miles from any club in both cases and make sure to check out the area for other rouge flyers because if your doing it chances are someone else is...

Call inwood models they will sell tranny only and swap receivers you'd probably get x2 617 receivers to replace that 14 channel one.
oh inwoods will do one of the best deals about as well
Shops are there to Help and they will, because they want your cash

That's fine if you have the money for a top notch tx/ rx mate. Most smaller models come with a 35mhz tx/rx for the newbie so unless you have access to a club or live in rural enviroment you will find it pretty hard to find somewhere within a 2 mile radius and guarantee no interference at all.Originally posted by Disc View Postwell buy once buy right applies here...

Most flyers - me included might not have access to a club and live in an urban area where big open spaces come in the form of football pitches for daily practice especially if you are a young flyer with no means of transport.
I should have also included that if you buy any tx ensure it is compatable with the sim of your choice.

you need t go and hold the TX's before you buy one
they all feel slightly different and you need to make sure you are happy with how it feels in your hands before purchasing and whether the switches are in a comfortable position
for me persornally i have both a Futaba 10C and a 12FG and they feel very similar, i believe the 8FG is smaller and lighter than the 12FG
i dont use a neckstrap so this is not a worry of mine, but if you do then you need to see how they balance ont the strap
i personally dont like the DX6 and think it is horrible to hold, but others may think its great and at the end of the day its what feels right to the individual that counts
and so after that helpful info i will conclude by saying Buy Right - Buy Futaba

PS the Futaba 10C will be for sale as soon as i can be arsed to copy all my models onto the 12Steve - Instructor and builder for the Paul Heckles school of flying
