Hi,
I have been having a look through this great site and spotted loads of really friendly advice.
I want to buy a heli, my first (unless you include a Picoo Z) and was hoping some of you may be able to give me some advice at what to look at. I have looked through a number of posts from people asking similar questions but realise the answer is quite dependant on the individual need. I have tried to list out my requirements;
1. Electric Power - Why, I live right near a large park and would like to be able to nip out to fly it when the conditions are right. I also need to be flexible to head out when I get a chance (we have a new baby which means I can only head out when the chance arrises). A petrol flown at a club would be a great next step but not right now I think.
2. Low price. Max £200. I have £100 at the ready and can probably muster another £100 without too much trouble from my wife, but this is really my limit at the moment. I can see the benefits of spending more but to see if I can really get into the hobbie I think this is the limit of my budget until I get hooked.
3. Skill level - Low, I flew RC planes and real planes a little in my teens (15 years ago) and know the general laws of physics on full size helicopters (I have flown a training Heli simulator) but in practical terms I have never flown one (appart from the picco Z!). So I need something that can handle my inexperience. I would of course love to do all kinds of aerobatics but in reality realise this will take quite a time.
4. Simulator - I would really like one of these but as a mac owner this seams a bit tricky. Are there any for macs? If not then I could bring home my work laptop PC?
Looking through the other posts these seam to be a couple of good options I have
A. Century Mini-pred. About £190. User philimon suggested including the following to another user, Hitech HS55 servo @ £10 and 1 x 1700mah 3S lipo @ £30 making this total £230. Importantly for me this includes a SIM so I can practise before I fly (is the SIM any good?). At the absoloute limit of my spend! Seams like this may be a bit tricky but with the SIM I may be able to manage it
B. Twister medivac, contra rotating heli. About £100. Seam safe and conservative but maybe the right level. I would also need a SIM though and a controller for the SIM, which brings it almost as high as A?
C..... more ideas welcome.
Thanks in advance for any advice, please let me know if any other info would help with advice!
Cheers

) and Pheonix isn't as processor hungry as some others so I am told. The only thing I don't know is if you can use the controller that comes with the Medevac for connecting to your laptop for Pheonix. Can others help here?
