That isn't so unbelievable if you have time to dedicate to it. Like the op, I joined in March, (also the first time I flew) and am doing some 3d.. loops, rolls, inverted hovering, tic tocs and even I even managed an untidy pirouetting circuit the other week.
This was achieved because I work shifts and have a fair bit of free time to practice (also lots of sim time in the early weeks). I have also burried myself into the hobby financialy, which helps.
i should have said some 3d as i cannot do pirouetting yet!
the time in the hobby is just the time since you started .... not the amount of hours on the sim/flying lol.....its like n e thing ... what you want out of it at the end of the day .... I seen people that have placed in comps as they put the time in to compete .. for most of us its a hobby and for enjoyment nothing more nothing less ....buy a Srimok and have fun .... jobs sorted
im starting to have second thought about BUILDING a srimok 90. is it as easy to build? as i have only build about 3 450 electric helis and i dont have any help at my end.
i will need a heli i can build myself without any help of anyone around me and i have never build a nitro.
which is easiest to build a trex 700 , jr,avant or kasama ..i assumed there all relatively the same until i saw some of the pics of the srimoks they looks like complicated machines.
Seriously, is this thread a joke? You have pretty much avoided everybodies advice, looks like a total wind up to me now. You've only ever built 3 450's and you are looking at a top end 90 nitro now? Total madness if you ask me....

Oh man, the "shreemo" 90 was made for YOU!!!

Nothing new Jamie. All the threads posted have a similar flow of events (and attitude!) Pretty much expected and used to, by now.

The things that make the 'top-end' helis 'better' than the cheaper options are also the same things that make them a hassle to live with. All the stuff like adjustable gear meshing, crown gears, adjustable mixing ratios and head setups etc. It's great for tweakers and those who know what to tweak when, but also makes the thing time consuming to build and more likely to need more timely and intrusive maintenance.
The TRex 700 has none of these things - it just bolts together in one way and one way only, and surprise surprise, it just works, works well, flies straight, requires minimal maintenance and all that which has been said already. It's a 90 so has all the presence in the air, and the power factor that all the other 90s have as well. It moves fast and changes direction fast - it will get you out of trouble quickly and will also get you into trouble quickly.
If you really want a Srimok, JR Vibe SG, Excel Stratus, Blitz Avro, Synergy N9, Avant Aurora or any other exquisite piece of engineering then go ahead and get one, but as has been said many times already in this thread, you WILL be afraid to fly it, you won't be able to tell the difference in performance between it and any other 90 and you won't get anywhere near the level of enjoyment out of it than you would from an Align 90.
I've built quite a few helis now over my years in this hobby including several 90s, and pretty much know what I'm doing with them. When I got my 700 last October, it took me 5.5 hours from opening the box to its first hover. That's how quick and easy they go together. I'm currently building an Xcel 90 and have spent about the same amount of time on just the first 3 steps of the build and have only just got the main frames assembled. There's loads of engineering excellence with shims here and shims there in the Xcel which makes it a joy to build and assemble, and I will enjoy flying it, but I will never be as care-free with it as I am with the 700, just because of 'what it is'.
If you are genuinely intent on getting a 90 next then carry on my friend, but do yourself a favour and just get an Align. Think carefully as well about other people's comments about going for a 50 as your next heli, as there is even more sense in that than any 90.
you're going to get a million answers of buy this one its the best because they own that brand/model
the best heli to own is the one that you can get spares localy
but you will get buy brand x as the spares are cheap
Completely agree, i brought a twister 3d in cornwall, then i moved to bolton and have to order parts online which as i am impatient i have to get next day'd which costs me at least £6....amount of spares i could have brought so far with that money is probably about £40 worth!
hi guys i spoke to some members on rchelination and i decided to go for the trex 600 after all that!!!and im happy to go for a 50 as 90 was a too bigger jump i would struggle reaching.
