one point I think has been missed here, myself, I went the "quality route", thats just because I get a buzz from the engineering of it all,,,just spent a lot of money on a Lepton for that very reason, darn't bloody fly it, I fly and learn, on my Mini Titan se, a really nice heli, with a quality feel to her, but cheap and relatively pain free to fix.
Started leaning on a Gaui 200ep, which cost me a lot, not only because she was (and still is) a manic little $%£*" but I learned to programme my tx to dumb her down, I learned to rebuild my rotor head, I learned to set her up, I learned when and where a fault was,,,you get the picture,,,she may have cost me a lot, but I paid for my heli "tuition" if you like, I've only been at this lark for a few months now, but I'm REALLY enjoying building my Swift, I LOVE flying my Titan, and I occasionally enjoy the challenge of the Gaui, and the CX2 ?,,,well, you can have a hell of a lot of fun with a CX2 and a sausage ,,,lol
,,buy quality, and it is still fixable, and yeah, you may be able to buy 3 or 4 cheap kits for the price of a head rebuild on a trex or titan, but you won't learn diddly,,,,,in my own short experience

Fixxer - have you bought a CopterX 450AE? Might be worth biying one before slagging it off too much. For the money it really is unbelieveable what you can get for now. To put it in to perspective the CopterX entire kit did not cost much more than just a metal swashplate for my dragonus......

Slagging things off ! I hadn't even started lol. You get what you pay for in the long run and that applies to most things in life not just helis. I'll pass on the craptor X ta, I got a 700 to buy
      Velocity 50
      Synergy N5
      Fury 55 FBL
      Trex 700

Just thought I would mention I have my CopterX 450 up and running and what a fantastic heli. The quality of the parts is fantastic it blows other cheapos like the HK450 out of the water. Flew it last night in the community centre and it was really nice and smooth.

Cant reccomend it enough! Unbelievable that you can get this kind of heli for $50 odd. There is barely any slop anywhere (unlike the HK450 which is a slop fest).

butuz, send us the link where you got the copter x machine???

I believe align are overpriced too...when the copies first started they were pretty reasonable but now i believe they have ironed out alot of the problem.Im with you in the fact that you could have 3 or 4 heli for the same price as a align trex 450 whatever.Alot of people at my club fly align and are like branded by it....

until i turned up with my titan ec325 and they were like thats nice!!!

I understand most of the choices people make but.....if you can have 4 heli for the price of 1 why not???When your a beginner your only going to bin anyway so why have another 3 in the air....

I think it goes back to the point if your a beginner and you have one heli....you really dont want to crash it....but if you had 4 to fly...you would probably care but not as much cause you have another 3 to fly....and it aint gonna cost ya an arm and a leg to get it back in the air....

Thats my but anyhue???....man i love this forum...

Just to add my part to the story, I started with a cheap Walkera 36. I junked all the elctronics, disposed of the dodgy lipos and charger that didnt. I fitted budget gear and bruhsless motor and managed to get it to fly with a lot of swearing and head scratching.

I ended up spending as much as if i just went out and bought a t-rex in the first place.

Fast forward a year or two and I bought a Raptor Titan and I just maidened my T-rex Super Pro last month.

It really is head and shoulders above the cheapo copy, I accept it is slightly more expensive than what is on the market, but boy is it good.

Its so good Im considering a T-rex 600N to join the fleet.
