[quote=Smoothound;218046]Same old story, people assume they are so clever they can master rotary flight in a day just like fixed wing. It don't work like that

This is why Plankers hate Heli pilots, it's just too hard for their tiny brains so when someone can do it they block it out [/quote

I didnt assume i was clever, i dont have a tiny brain, and i aint blocking anything out.

    Cheers

I did think it was going to be easier and i dont have the time or patience to do it, at least i admit defeat!

more than anything its the whole setting up, i just assmued i could get it out of the box and go for it,

as i was getting bored of my contra copter.

Heinsight is a great thing, i wish i had done more research but i will bit the bullet and take the hit, and just remember that the heli guys are a nice bunch the majority of you have been very helpful and this is a great site, when i stop racing and i have spare time and money i will come back without a doubt, i just rather sell it now before i smash it to pieces and its worth nothing.

Come one mate give it a bit more time, you've purchased some excellent kit, your decked out to the nines and within a few weeks your selling up!

Buddy this hobby takes months just to master the basics, you have all the right kit to start off an exciting flying hobby, you've invested in the pocket, all you need now is to invest in some much needed practice.

You'll never get a good return on your goods, and with the prices rising you've made a safe investment done & done.

Like I say when you start to hover safely and start controlled flight it is so exciting you get high, there's always banter between Heli & Plank flyer's, and yes flying a Plane you could scratch your arse for a few seconds and return to the stick no worse for wear, with a Heli she would drop like a stone, this is massively difficult to master and learn all the physics and mechanical set up's but thats part of the fun, as when you can have a session and pump say five batts through her and return back home with your Bird in one piece, you'll have the satisfaction that you've half mastered the most difficult RC hobby there is.

Oh BTW when I started I was going to give it in after a few weeks, I tell you now that would have been my single biggest mistake bar one!

        Sleep on it buddy.

In my view it takes a big man to say, "you know what, I've tried it & can't do it. I'll cut my loses & get out now while the goings good".
Smoothound, your a reasonable man, you've got to at least say fair play to the fellar.
He's not given it large, he just says, nope, can't do it, not for me, at the moment anyhow. See you in the near future dipsta.

thanks dude, i have only had it 3 days lol.

After attempting set up and things i realised it was just too much, its not because i cant fly it, its because i dont have the patience or the time, to set it up and fit bits etc. I agree i have been foolish to rush in. I have no doubts i will come back fully committed some time in the future because i still am intrigued by the whole heli thing

I think we should respect your decision.... you have obviously done your research by the tech knowledge you have about your kit and you don't want to play helis right now. Your selling sound gear which should be snapped up by a fellow newbie leaving everyone concerned happy.

Good luck with the sale... give it another go when your ready mate.

Can I suggest you keep Phoenix and the DX6i and sell the rest of the stuff.

Spend a few months learning to fly in the sim. That way you can take your time and in a few months see how you are getting on.

Thats what I'd do in your situation.

Hi everyone i just wanted to say that i met up with Dipsta yesterday to try and give him some help and advice on how to go about the whole rc heli situation,What a really nice guy he is too its just great to have met another sound person through this great forum,But as Dipsta has said and i also realised that he works really long hours and only has like 1 day off per week and its difficult for him to juggle around with rc helis at the moment as he has other commitments like his sidecar racing. He genuinely just hasn't got the time and im sure, like he's said he will consider getting back into it all in the near future.
                              Cheers Grant
