i would say the oversized landing gear and additional training gear wont help. these helis are weight sensative and don't like anything effecting balance.

As your holding the heli though and the vibes are still present i would go with the top advice from the likes of rob and rich first. To add though it may be the flybar length or paddle pitch inbalancing things.. with a heli this small there is no room for anything in the head being out of balance IMHO

Thanks all, I'll have a go at taking it apart to have a look at the main shaft. Cheers.

Right, I think I may have found it. I couldn't get the main shaft out I Couldn't see how to get the main gear off from the bottom.

Anyway, I've uploaded a video of hover attempts with training gear on here. There's still some noticable vibration:

        [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VN33yFEgaps[/ame]

Then, I took the gear off, and tried again. There's a lot less vibration. I think it's just down to me to imrove flying now.

Does this look flyable to you lot? I am beginning to think that with a lot more practice I might actually be able to fly it. I don't think it's damaged?

This one problem with flying in a confined space. You are much more likely to bent something as there is much more to crash into!

Ideally you fly in a larger room. I appreciate it may not be possible.

It does look flyable now you've removed the training carraige off, but I would still try and work out how to get the bottom bolt/pin out.

I'm no expert but I would say you need a bigger room.

I wouldn't fancy one of those blades through the screen of your telly...

However, vibration looks pretty much gone once it's in the air.

Thanks, I do try and power down before "landing". I'd go outside, but it's dark! Cheers.

Thanks, it's the vibrations that were concerning me. I only really fly outside, but it's cold and dark, and I'm impatient!

That looks fine to me Mr Maj - vibrates just the same as my FPs so stop worrying !!

As has been said above though get yourself a bigger flying site

You'll just be fighting it all the time in the air turbulence created in such a small space. Even a single garage size makes a helluva difference. And outside with no wind is sheer bliss.

Nice hover attempts though - hope you really enjoy it

Thanks Bugster. I've got more room onthe Lounge than in the garage. I aim to fly outside, but have been through a couple of batteries in the Lounge tonight, and it seems to have "clicked". I'll be outside tomorrow!

One thing - it seems to lean to the right, even when not drifting right. Is that just trim?

The lean to the right is natural ........

Go fly it....................it looks good to me

                      Have fun

I think I may have a duff battery? The heli seems to have limited power. I had a go with Honey Bee, and it seemed far more powerful than my 4G1B?

Can that be adjusted with one of the mixeers on the box of tricks inside the heli?

                          Thanks

You do know not to fully discharge lipo batteries, don't you? You should stop flying as soon as you notice any decrease in performance. Voltage at end of flight (measured with a multimeter) should be about 3.7V, never any lower than 3.0V. Voltage at end of charge should be 4.0---4.2V, depending on what the charger limits it to.

The motors do wear over time, but you've only had it a week or so!

Thanks. I don't have a voltage meter, but stop when the red LED in the heli flashes. Does that mean I may have fried the batteries?

With my FP & coax, I notice how much power I apply to get it to hover (usually about 1/2 to 3/4 full throttle), and as soon as I notice that I have to give much more than that, I stop. Usually low-voltage warnings are best used as a failsafe, and shouldn't be relied on to protect your battery.

Another thing that occurs to me is that you may have unscrewed/ moved the motor when trying to get the mast/ gear out, in which case you'll have to reset the gear mesh as that can sap a lot of power.
