I have come to the conclusion that flying a helicopter is not for me and I am looking for a good way to sell my 2 Blade 500s which I converted to FBL. I have a lot of stuff including the original Fb stuff but am at a loss to know where heli guys would look .I don't think I will be allowed to on here as I'm fairly new and everything on them is too good to throw away, anything needed was replaced with new. Its been a week now and I'm anxious to make the break

You have the necessary posts to put them up For Sale in the relevant forum. They're not the most popular of Heli so you might have a bit of trouble selling on. Make sure you put as much info and pics of what you're selling and be realistic with the price. Why do you say it's not for you.Last edited by waveydavey; 06-08-2015, 08:08 AM.

Sorry to read your post but wondering the same as Dave.... its a steep learning curve for sure... one I am on myself but massively rewarding too
.
I think you do need a lot of patience, its not like cars which are relatively easy and is my only other reference. Assuming you've had some crashes that put you off... Have you tried learning tail in hovering on a sim yet?

It would be good if I can put them on here , I like the way it works and would deffinately be the first choice. As for not for me well I was really doing well, sideways on most of the time, only in hovers , but I suddenly just decided that is it having had a mishap with the boom ,and just waiting for a new one now.

Yes ,I can fly the sim for 20 minutes or so , I think it's just me going about it the wrong way ,I have had lots of help offers , one fella did buddy me , though he wasn't keen, but forgot to take over when I got out of shape. I have to be on my own to concentrate anyway .I am not knocking the hobby though, seeing it sitting there , sideways on 20 or 30 ft up was special but waiting for weather, spares ect. and spending hours in the garage got to me in the end

Sorry to hear that you have decided it's not for you. There is a point that it 'clicks' and it a wonderful thing when it happens, but I understand your frustration. Have you tried going along to a club?
You can list them here by all means however if you 100% want to sell them then one virtually 'sure fire' way is to list them on eBay with a very low (say £5) starting price and see where the bidding ends up. Put plenty of photos in the listing and give a good description and it maximises your chance of getting a reasonable price, you also need to be willing to post them if you want to attract bidders.
Hanging on to them waiting to get a good price usually doesn't work because the older they get the more the value drops.Last edited by Grumpy; 06-08-2015, 08:44 AM.Goblin Kraken, SoXos Strike 7, XLPower Specter, Goblin Black Thunder T, Goblin 700 Speed, Goblin 770 Comp Carbon, Trex 700X, Kasama Dune, Henseleit TDR

A short break might be a good idea, at least to see if the enthusiasm returns. Leaving it a few weeks or months wont much effect the price you would get if you did decide to sell.Goblin Kraken, SoXos Strike 7, XLPower Specter, Goblin Black Thunder T, Goblin 700 Speed, Goblin 770 Comp Carbon, Trex 700X, Kasama Dune, Henseleit TDR

Actually helis usually get quite a bit of interest on eBay. Many heli flyers do keep an eye on eBay looking for bargains!
You can do a search on ebay for helis similar to yours and ticking the box to show previously sold items.. This should give you an idea of what similar helis have sold for.Goblin Kraken, SoXos Strike 7, XLPower Specter, Goblin Black Thunder T, Goblin 700 Speed, Goblin 770 Comp Carbon, Trex 700X, Kasama Dune, Henseleit TDR

Take a break, change your user name to "determinedflyer" and then get back in the saddle!
You've already invested all that time and money, would be a shame to see it all wasted. Only makes sense to give up if you are really not enjoying it even when things are going well. Remember that nobody gets a buzz out of crashing and waiting for parts to arrive. So I wouldn't give up due to that alone. It's all about how you feel when you are actually flying and making some progress - however small.
If you do decide to sell up, don't expect much return on your 2 Blade 500s. If they are in good shape and you're not desperate for the money I would just keep them around for a while. You may be tempted to fly them again in a couple of months or even next year. Of course you could always buy another used one, but then it becomes more of an effort to get back in and anything you buy used is a bit of an unknown. I suspect you would probably get more money for them on ebay than listed here, simply because of the masses, lack of knowledge and impulse buyers.SAB Goblin 380 KSE - latest love thang
Lynx OXY 3 - my mini flagship!
Blade 180 CFX - field beater for new moves
Blade Red Bull BO-105 CB 130 X - scale fun flying at the field when the tail isn't broken, which is not often.
Blade mCPX - sold
Blade Nano QX - house fly of choice
Blade mCX2 - retired but will be back when the kids get a bit bigger
Spektrum DX8 - for everything
neXt sim - the sim I started out with
Heli-X sim - my new favourite sim!

I thank you for your reply, nice clear common sense and is in line with the advice I have been given. I have been told that I can sell on here which I hope is correct ,if or when I do sell them or at least try to, so that is one thing cleared up but you are probably right, my best bet is ebay. Club membership would make sense ,just flying with others appeals , other flyers have always been very helpful. How do I feel when flying, terrified in a word
Glad I raised the question though , it has been helpful to get a different take on it. Thanks to all

The 'pucker factor' is a major hurdle to get over and is one of the downsides of learning on a larger heli, they can be quite intimidating. On the other hand once you get over the pucker big helis are in fact much easier to fly.
One think that makes them much easier still is a flybarless controller that has self levelling. this means that all you have to do is release the sticks and the heli automatically returns to level flight. This is available on a number of flybarless controllers these days and it makes a huge difference... In fact many would say it makes flying too easy but if it helps build that initial confidence and allows you to start enjoying flying then it can only be a good thing.
The best known FBL with this feature is the Bavarian Demon 3SX, but there are lower cost options hitting the market. There is now the 'Spirit' which is similar to the 3SX but cheaper.Last edited by Grumpy; 06-08-2015, 11:55 AM.Goblin Kraken, SoXos Strike 7, XLPower Specter, Goblin Black Thunder T, Goblin 700 Speed, Goblin 770 Comp Carbon, Trex 700X, Kasama Dune, Henseleit TDR
