Great feeling isn't it, you'll be hovering full packs out in no time. Main thing is not to rush it, but on the other hand, pushing yourself a little to get to the next stage and so on.

The trex is a great learning platform as long as you've got flybar weights on and at least 20% expo. Keep going and keep posting!

      The big question Wayne.

When will the 600 be arriving.

Take it from me, as soon as you get those circuits and figure 8's done with the 450 the little man inside your head will be asking.

Once Wayne has got used to his 'Rex enough to take the training gear off, I did promise a drive of my recently arrived Raptor 30, so that should keep the hobby pangs at bay a little.

Mind you I think his other half was a little shocked by the size increase from the 'Rex to the Raptor! LOL!!

I want to say a personal thank you to all of you, but today I got through two packs of maxpoly batts practicing on the large grass island where Rob flew his 600 and where pip and I had a few 450's up a few weeks back.

The wind was fairly strong, much stronger than yesterday round Mike's gaff, and my 450 was getting buffered all over the show but I kept in control, brought her back when the wind took her away, remembered my phoenix training and the tuition Mike gave me, and when she was about to go sideways pull up the throttle get her away from the ground and balance out the cyclic controls so she was steady again.

Well pleased, I managed 1-2 minutes at a time tail in's with the wind gusts giving me a little grief but nothing more that the wind gusts I have on Phoenix as default when I'm training on that.

Clare arrived for the last five minutes of flight, as my Spine was still slaughtered from yesterday, but not hell or high water was going to interfere with my flying today.

Batts are on charge now the Trex has had a polish and I'm hoping in the early evening the wind will drop for my third outing with my heli.

Clare wants one now, but she wants a Raptor 30, Cheers Mike, you've really started something now mate.

Anyway I'm well pleased, the highs buzzing again, I can't wait until later when I have another go, hoping that the wind has dropped a bit by then.

Now I need a serious lay down, as I'm going to reply to all of your posts, but you guys are bloody great, thanks.

                      Back soon.

Scooby, Ron, Jim, Dez, Mark, JB, Willy MF, Busterboy, Gazza, Mark G1 & Sneeks.

Thank you all for your words of encouragement, of course the others I have already thanked, but you guy's have played a major part in helping me achieve the level I'm already at.

Just to recap, since Pip posted this thread I've had nine flights of my Trex, ranging from fairly strong winds to claim conditions, today I've already had two flights, it was a little windy earlier on, but I've been practising left to right cyclic movements and forward and reverse, just magic fun.

The wind took me a few times and I swear I didn't panic once, my alert senses heightened to react quick, like where the wind takes her up high when caught out, I just lower the throttle go nose in, then at about five feet increase the power and level out.

Or when it catches the heli sideways and takes her on a sideways course, I add throttle to gain height and at the same time right or left cyclic to get her out of the near danger zone, my line of thinking has been if it gets a little dicey and I've had a few, get her up quick, as then I have height and space to correct the angle, plus keeping a cool head helps no end as well.

This is where Phoenix has come into it's own, as where I always fly in windy condition on the PC how do I describe it?....it's like natural instinct from all my hours on practise, as I'm under no doubt had I not put the hours in I'd have clipped a few blades by now.

But less of that talk I don't want to tempt fate.

The buzzing hasn't left one bit yet.

                              Thanks mate, most kind.

I've read up and watched videos plus my endless Phoenix sim time has really helped me take the first step on the mini heli flying ladder, this time last year when I was flying one of those little foam micro 2ch helis I'd never imagined in my wildest dreams I'd be flying a real Helicopter like the Trex, and still want more.

Gotta say I'm as happy as a Pig in poo with my flying and the total enjoyment its giving me.
