the nano cpx isn't a compromise. It's less powerful true. But a great machine. I only use mine outsideSpektrum IX12

There's no value in having an mcpx v2 and an mcpx bl. Just get the brushless and spend the rest on spares. The bl version just addresses the issues of the v2 in that the tail would blow out and the power was lacking. The v2 I found more difficult to fly.Pete

What I meant was it's a compromise on size for its potential use indoors. But if you're flying outside 100% I don't see the point in choosing it over a mCPX BL. But maybe I've missed something?Originally posted by james_2k View Postthe nano cpx isn't a compromise. It's less powerful true. But a great machine. I agree the Nano is probably less of a handful, but then if it's a bit windy I'd imagine it gets blown around more too. I find the standard mCPX V2 is pretty good for garden flying but still needs to be pretty calm. It's just about big enough to handle a breeze and not that hard to control. Haven't tried the BL version either, but I bet the extra power is much better for 3D as the review in the link I posted suggests. The Nano sounds like fun, but seems more of an indoor choice to me, although I suppose it is less than half the price of a mCPX BL if that matters.SAB Goblin 380 KSE - latest love thang

Sounds like a great deal for £80. I don't know the forum rules on linking to shops but think you could at least mention the shop name (presuming you are just a happy customer), other people do that all the time.SAB Goblin 380 KSE - latest love thang

Just an update in case anyone is in my same situation:
I bought both Nano Cpx and Mcpx BL.
I find the Nano a thousand times easier to fly than the v911, you have more control and more precision in every movement. Take off is so much easier! just throw the collective stick up and you're flying, no drift sideways or anything.
I also find inverted hovering with the Nano is easier than in the sim (maybe asx has something to do with it).
Bear in mind that I'm a beginner, but I found the Nano less reactive that the Goblin (size 600) I fly in the sim, for example when using cyclic, the Goblin in the sim just turns instantly, the Nano has bit more lag but I guess it's just a matter of getting used to it's reactions.
The Mcpx BL is a bit more reactive than the Nano, I haven't flied it much as I first want to transfer my skills from the sim to the Nano, and then to the Mcpx.

Sounds like you've already put the hours in on the sim. With that, the nano and BL you're well away. You've everything you need there to learn all the core 3D skills, it'll set you up very nicely for your first larger model.
Just need to start saving for something bigger now :-)Helis: Oxy 2 FE / Oxy 2 Sport / Protos 380 / Oxy 4 Max / Gaui X3 380mm
