Exactly mate. Glad you agree. Some people on here don't know how to read properly and turn what you're trying to say into something else other than it's real intentional meaning. Jump and gun springs to mind with a few on here....

      Whatever ...
I quoted your post as a way to show that I was speaking to you in response to your post where you FIRST quoted my post. Had I not done that then I could've been responding to any of the members that had commented on this thread. Wouldn't you agree? I didn't aim anything in my posts personally to you. Again I will say it, I never said 'you' in any of my posts. Please re-read and I'm sure you will agree. I was just airing my opinion of what some people do. Again I have used the word some, so that you won't feel as though what I'm saying is aimed at you. Thanks for understanding.

        So back on topic:

If one guy buys a heli with a flybar rotor head and has a Turnigy TX worth £40 and a cheaper RX installed in the model worth £10.

Then a second guy has a flybar less heli with a £1000 worth of TX and a top of the range RX installed in the model blah blah blah....

Who will be able to fly the best?

The moral of the story is, it doesn't matter what you fly and what radio equipment that you use to fly it. The model and equipment is only as good as the person stood behind the radio operating it.

So again the heli snobbery has proved me to be correct in what I was first trying to say here.

Example: (A little off topic, I know, but to break it down a little easier for those who find it hard to evaluate that someone had stated)

Leads me into this so here we have it:

I go out and buy a Ferari will I be able to drive as good as some of the F1 drivers?!!

        No!

So to finish off what I'm saying, you don't need to have all the singing and dancing equipment to be able to get into this hobby. I've seen blokes flying clone helicopters with cheaper than top of the range gear and they have flown them better than somebody that I've seen who had spent 4-5 times as much on their gear.

I used words such as 'some people'
And 'they' meaning I was talking about somebody else in a third person context. I never used the word 'you'

OK, perhaps I misinterpreted you, but consider how YOUR post read to me ...

Again somebody else that's missed my point altogether......
ie. me - the person you are quoting ...
          ....
What a narrow mind some people have. Where do you think your computer was most likely made?
So from my perspective, you're calling out my post, implying I have a narrow mind. I thought that was uncalled for! Yes, you say "some people", but after specifically saying "somebody else" (ie. me!) and then linking the narrow mind quote with "where do you think ...".

As for the list - well, I use lists all the time at work - never really seen them as being smarmy or childlike, but maybe that's just me.

If this was not how your intended your post to read - fair enough, but that's not how it came across.

Please take note of my punctuation marks.
In the first sentence I said they. And I had finished that sentence and went onto my second sentence where I used the words 'where do you think your computer was made?' I was simply asking you a question.

Ok, enough grammar! I think that ...

Expensive equipment doesn't necessarily equal good results.
But, if people want/can afford high end stuff - bully for them!
As for heli snobbery! - You can tell what I think of that by looking at my sig and the helis I fly!

Back to topic now I've wasted a few minutes of my life that I'll never get back reading posts after post of argument......

I started with an MCPX ready to fly which came with a DX5e, this cost me £120 and once I mastered it (took me a few weeks and a few crashes) I upgraded to a DX6i for £70 and a second hand Trex 450 Pro with flybar for £180 got the hang of this, then spend £100 making it flybar less.

I can flip, roll, fly inverted in all orientations.

You don't have to spend a fortune, just get the best you can afford and upgrade later.
